Bay to LA in my FB...checklist...hmmmm

I'm still pondering the trip. I'd be leaving prob thurs. nite so it will be cool and traffic will be relatively gone. Yes, I'm a little crazy, seeing my FB has 157k now. I've just done the brakes f/r, recent tune-up, replaced the heater hose, flushed the radiator, new air-filter, uhhh....oh yeah I new wax job. I'll be carrying some tools, extra water, coolant, oil, etc. Anything else? Good idea or very bad idea. I know its prob more bad idea than good, but I would like to know how much badder than gooder. Thanks!

Eh, i've never been stranded.. even if you loose a rotor, you could probably limp it back.. Just dont let it shut off haha

Take a tow rope.. Can always restart it with a pull start hahahahaha

I've done LA to CowTow and back, 800 miles in about 30hrs. My REX was rock solid!! Stopped in Kettlemen City for gas both ways and that's it.

Thanks for the replies fellas. It looks like I won't be doing the trip this weekend. But when I do I will be sure to bring a spare engine, get Wackyracer's address, bring a rope to pull start her in case I lose a rotary, and put the CCR tape in the deck. Laters.

get rid of the FB and get a VW bug. I heard they have an extra engine in the trunk just in case.

i say, take a plane so you don't have to take the FB or VW with extra load in trunk.

take some hose clamps and zip ties....they come in handy if a hose blows.
