as for swapping to manual, I'd love to, but I'm not sure I have the skill required to swap it out...nor the money really....

deff going to have to look into both options some more.. maybe look for a parts car that has a good tranny in it....might be cheaper

hey do u have a s4 or s5... cause i might know someone who has a s4 auto tranny

Ok so sorry for lagging.

I talked to Paul and he told me that swapping an automatic transmission on an fc is a royal pain in the butt and it makes swapping a manual transmission look like doing an oil change. He also said the fact that we wouldn't be doing this on a lift without air tools will obviously make it even harder. He did go into the process a tiny bit though so I have a little more understanding of what needs to be done.

So with that said and the fact that I work 7 days a week 8 hours a day I don't see this as something I am capable of doing especially in one day. If this could be an on going project where maybe we go at it a couple hours at a time and we have at least a couple mechanically inclined people I suppose I am down to try. A meet sounds cool but it would probably make our lives easier if someone brought a portable air compressor so we can use my air tools.

well i have a friend who works at a u pull n save ill ask him if we can use his work lift but the thing is if we work on my car at the shop it will have to be done in one day only cause the car has to be out of the shop for the next day... but how long do u think the process will be if u cant finish it in that day. and i also have my brother and a couple of friends who worked on their cars so ill tell them to help out too so u wont have to do it alone
