Sometimes you just have to work with what you have... (advantage / disadvantage wise).... I can't open a Casino, and I can't get a Minority Business Loan... yet I was born a "***" in this country...

Those are all pretty easy to fix at least. Just slap on a few cats for the inspection, recirculate your BOV, and put a stock intake back on and you're done. Easy!

Whoa I just saw that you can't drive your car until you get the ref ticket signed off - I had no idea that was the rule!

Oh I have no idea. Do you mean failed a sniffer test? Because I pass legally every year with 2 high flow cats.

And I know as of January 1st, 2008, all cats must be specifically built for your car. But of course you are exempt if you bought and installed the cats prior to Jan 1st 2008.

Oh thats even better actually. Do you have to go under the sniffer while at the ref or does he just check the intake, exhaust, and engine?

What BOV do you have?

Type RS? At least its able to be recirculated so you'll be in full compliance. Just make sure your exhaust comes in under 95db at... 3k rpm? Maybe its 4k rpm, I can't remember.

A high flow cat has to have a carb number? Hmmm, when I was reading the CA CV codes last time, I could have sworn I was right about the cat issue. Maybe the ref was trying to get you and used that tactic, assuming you weren't aware of the Jan 1st, 2008 rule.

you have a Link to that Cat Rule from a Government Website like DMV site...
I can't Find it ... But I am probably going to get a exhaust from an 89 stock tII from a friend and don't want to have my leg pulled by the Ref

95db limit

Under the SAE standard, a sound meter is placed 20 inches from the exhaust outlet at a 45-degree angle and the engine is revved to three quarters of maximum rated horsepower. The highest decibel reading is then recorded.
from http://www.semasan.com/main/main.aspx?id=61596 (Thats about 4500 rpm for us FC guys except s5 non-turbo)

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc27151.htm

Still searching for the catalytic converter law.
