yes, i got 2 of em, the cop didn't even know. when i tried to get it written off at the sherriff station they sent me to trade tech for the smog ref.

 

Wow, because of this thread, price on my old school RX-3s just went up 500% in a 2-week period.

 

that's what they did to me at santa fe springs chp station. i heard some chp stations still sign them off without issuing a smog ref.

well im putting together an exhaust at the moment which is why i wanted feedback for using a catalytic converter or not. plans for exhaust are two as follows:

corksport power series header into catless 2.5" midpipe into a 2.5" racingbeat presilencer into a 2.5" magnaflow mini me before the differential into a titanium resonator with a titanium extension pipe out

or

corksport power series header into a high flow cat into the 2.5" magnaflow mini me before the differential into a titanium resonator with a titanium extension pipe out

you're better off just paying the ref ticket. to buy the t2 exhaust and to put it on is about the same amount of money. full t2 exhaust.... i had one but sold it (oem downpipe, cat, y pipe, mufflers). now i regret it but having a 2.5 inch RB downpipe + presilencer, and 2.75 inch apexi bomber 3 exhaust makes me feel better. just crazy paranoid over cops now.

 

But buying an exhaust, you get an exhaust.

Paying the ticket, all you get is let go til next time.

also i got failed my 1st inspection for having a high flow cat, when i put on a stock cat it only tested 1db quieter...
