I have to smog my car and it is offer SMOG CHECK ONLY. anyone out there need to do that, i'm not offering hwere but saying anyone need to get that done too?

 

Where I'm at, we have Emissions as part of the required Inspection every two years. There are usually ways to fix smog in my part of the country, I don't know about California.

to bad it has a j-spec motor in it, with no smog pump, no cat converters.

Huh? Do you mean TEST ONLY? I have to do test only cause my car is a gross polluter. This will be remedied when I put the emissions back on. Lesson learned, albeit, an obvious one.

you can rent out my cats, i only put them on if i have to smog, other than that i just run th stock cats. you will pass as long as your car is running correctly.

 

there are more then 23 million registered vehicles in California, the majority of those have to get smogged every 2 years, unless it is less then 5 years old, diesel, electric, CNG, 76 or older..etc.

regardless whether it's a test only or not, you still have to have SMOG equipment on the vehicle by law... So yes, there are lots of people who need to get smogs
