I bet you every last oen of us has seen, and worked on a v8, they are a dime a dozen. I could walk outside and count at least 7 vehicles with v8's, and 2 of them are mine, the rest are just other people driving down the road. Now a rotary on the other hand, u dont see them often. So u cant say that neither of us know what we are talking about, because we have knowledge in both v8, and rotary, some may have more experience in rotary, but i guarantee others have more experience in v8 so in the end rotary owners are the bestr because we kno the pros and cons of both piston and rotary engines, while piston owners kno the pros and cons of v8's and make up cons about a rotary. And everything i just said does not apply to every piston owner or every rotary owner. Im just saying that in general, if i asked 10 rotary owners and 10 piston owners 1 question about the opposite engine, the rotary owners would come out on top.

Personally I'm a bit pissed off at most of you guys.
ANYONE who says they'll "not help", implying that they could, but won't, has no business on this forum and should leave. You will NOT be missed.

I may only know about the Nikki carb, but I freely share ALL info I can to help out people, even when I know they're not going to keep the Nikki.

You guys really ought to be ashamed of yourself.

Old Tex, I appologize for my overzealous rotary bretheren. They're like bees in a hive. They help each other all day long working for the common enjoyment of Rx-7 ownership and driving. But like bees, if a new bee (newbe) doesn't give off the right pheremone (IE, they don't smell right), they will eat him alive.

The info is here. You will just have to search quietly to get started.
I gaurantee you this, though-
Once you make headway in your project, all these ****** that wouldn't help you will be looking at your pictures and posts just out of curiosity, and though they might not envy your choice of engine, they'll envy the fact that you committed yourself to your project and did it.
(We got all kinds of "big plan" talkers here.)

Yea, i say, if u have the engine already go for it, but if u really want to be unique and orriginal, throw a 3 rotor, or even a 4 rotor conversion in there. Then u would be orriginal, and able to beat all v8's, and confuse the hell outta them when u say its a rotary.

Well man you said that you wanted to drift corners and such. Now I give you props a LT1 will probably blow the doors off my car, but yet I can drift corners with ease. What engine do you have? And what has really been done to it. Headers, intake manifold, exhaust, electric fan, upgraded carb? Why not find a good rotary 13B 4-port, street port it and throw that scker in. trust me, You'll have that torque you wanted. If you don't want to mess with rotaries, hey it's a free world out there go for it man. Just don't give up so quickly ya know. Well have fun with the swap and let us know how it's going.

i think he had made up his mind on the v8 thing so no more opinions on how v8 are lame. I want to do the same to my 79 because a engine rebuild for the rotary is just to much.

There cheaper, and most the cars that have v-8s in them are big and heavy that use up alot of the power made.

Look...he's just asking in the wrong Forum...got to the other sites for info or even the inhouse corner where this blasphemy is quite acceptable...I have a cow when someone puts a SBC into a '68 Pontiac Firebird, so I really can't stand it when people give up on the rotary and turn their RX-7 into a PX-7...

You resurrected a thread that was 3 years old to post a picture of your car when we specifically have a "post your first gen" thread................

Sorry man I thought I simply stated the obvious in my first sentence, and the purpose was to ask if he finished the car? The pic was just some eye candy.

Way to edit your post to make it seem that way... Old Tex hasn't been active since 05-16-07, but you should check out torque central.
