sourcing a v8?

so in the interest of exploring a v8 conversion, where is a good place to get a high power v8 at a good price?

EDIT: at least 550 flywheel hp to make this worth it.

"Good price" is a relative term. Abbott is not the cheapest but you will definitely get what you pay for. His engine will make power and not fall apart. How fast do you want to go?

You live in New York, go search the phone book for performance shops in your area. Go to some car shows, ask the guys there that have them and see where they got them built. Any simpler and we'd be doing the searching for you...or is that the point?
