Question okay another engine swap question but a little different

Alright so i have the opportunity to get a 350 small block with a turbo 350 tranny and possibly a rear end for free. now this engine came out of my dads 69' camero, yet it wasn't the original motor. it was a new motor bought from a dealership in 95. since chevy didn't change thier design for a while you can buy it. well my question is i know it was a crate motor bought in 95 but it has all the 69 components on it to make it a long block. since this was a short block bought in 95 would it be able to pass smog or because it has 6 components on it would it make it never able to be registered. and if it could never be street legal would i be able to get it registered as a rec vehicle. im in sacramento cali. and the car in question is a 88 fc so thats why im thinking because the short block was bought in 95

and im sorry if i wasted anyones time with this.

Federal law requires that the engine/block be from the same year or newer. It also requires that ALL smog gear from the new/swap motor be used.
Your block may qualify but the other components will fail.
Also if you plan on driving the car much on the street you will need an overdrive tranny.
The best plan would be to get a '88 small block donor car and strip everything from it. Use everything, wiring harness, cats, smog pump etc.
I did this in Texas and easily passed smog. I realize the communist state of Kalifornia can be harder.

also if you are going to be using a rx-7 rear end you might want to consider not using the th350. Go with the 4 spd autos instead. If you go to the track you will be screaming in 3rd gear crossing the line, plus your gas mileage would suck

thats what i was thinking but my dad just told me that it was a long block crate motor bought in 95. so i am thinking it might just pass the swap inspection but getting to actually pass smog is another ordeal in itself. i wasn't really planning on driving around much i was think more as a drift car that strictly recreational.

i will not be using the fc rear end i haven't fully decided what rear end i am going to use but it will definitely be lsd. and since i am going for a full drift car i don't really car about how many gears i have since the th350 is a four speed manual i wont be going into a gear much higher than third for drifting anyways. and drag racing is kinda boring to me fun to watch and fun to do but i get bored with it real quick.
