What's your point? Engines don't show up at the junkyard by themselves very often. They came out of something that arrived at the junkyard because it was wrecked. Figure it out.
No, they are mostly non running here, i guess wherever you're from, people just cant drive. There are also about 50x the domestis than there are imports though.

So you're saying a standard C5 Corvette isn't capable of handling as well as an FD?
I wouldn't know from experience, but hey the C5 looks just like an oversized crossbreeding of a Probe/FD, so it probably handles similar too right.

How many miles could you expect to get out of a 600 horsepower rotary engine? 25k? 15k? 10k? I suppose that would go up substantially if you turned the boost down, but then it's not really a 600 horsepower engine, right? And of course, that was on C14 on a dyno, and...
Again, I personally wouldn't know, but there's also no one here with a 600HP 13B that would be interested in contributing.

So after reading every single word in this thread, would it help at all if I said I was swapping in a 502 bbc into my fc just because? Nothing bad against rotories just SOME people, like myself, dont know jack **** about rotories. I think the chassis its self is beautiful! and the sound of a bbc coming from a little *** car like that is pretty amazing... does anyone on this forum have like a wife or a girlfriend or something to take their mind off cars for at least a second?

I know, Ill probably get a lot of **** for this, but I dont care. I just thought I should get this out there!

get a rx7 and a corvette, swap motors, the universe is once again in balance

remember form follows function, and function follows form-you build it for your own purpose...everything else is opinions, (like ******** everyone has one)

I read the whole thread.

I had someone send me emails regarding an add i put on craigslist wanting to sell my s4 na fresh rebuild with trans, harness and ecu for a sum of money and wanting a ka24de usdm 240sx powertrain.

This whole "why would you sell a freshly rebuilt rotary and 50/50 weight distrobution and rotary is the strongest most reliable engine ever" **** came in not one wave but two.

I literally laughed out loud, face palmed and wrote a legitimate argument back TWICE as to why i think what i was doing was RIGHT FOR ME.

Who gives a **** which engine is better? Do what you want. Get what you want out of your car and just shut the **** up.

It's ok to suggest things but dont come on like a Jehovah's witness preaching about your way being the right and only way.

The piston vs rotor debate will probably never end and it's because people are ignorant and opinionated.

I can't watch a kickass rotary vid or kick *** swapped rx7 vid without hearing the most retarded statements ever from either side.

This is why i tend to stay away from anything revolving around a rotary discussion...... I spend most of my time on my local drift/touge forum, zilvia.net, ziptied.....**** like that. **** that focuses more on having fun over who's dick is the biggest.

monkay. just shutup your making a fool of yourself.
slow7NC. on offence but i've worked on the VR-4s and they suck to work on.(no ******* room!!!)

now as for a V8 swap an LS1 would be your best bet(a LS1 with its aluminum block is actually lighter then the 13B-REW if i remember corectly.) personally i wouldn't do one cause i like odd motors like the 2.5L volvo inline 5 turbo i'm working on for my 90 RX-7

On another note. I love my FD3S. I love the performance it throws down, and the sound of the 9000rpm shift and BOV's. What i hate is getting 12mpg on the highway. I love every aspect of my FD except the mileage, amazing car, near perfect suspension geometry, knee weakening good looks.

I make 320rwhp with stock twins and a knightSports ECU. I get **** mileage. This equates to NOT so cheap thrills.

An aluminum block LS1 would match my power output, double my torque output, double my highway mileage, and leave the car more drivable, and quieter. Also, it would be easier (and cheaper) to work on, and would retain it's 50/50 weight distribution once I relocated my battery to the back. a 13b with stock twins, IC, piping, intake computers, millions of vacum lines, and electronics is only about 30 pounds shy of an LS1/T56 swap. An LS1 will also put down 400hp N/A and keep it's 25mpg highway.

we are CAR enthusiasts here, how you make it go fast is up to you man, some will hate on you, others won't. The fact is that as far as overall efficiency vs price, the v8 wins hands down. Rotaries are a fun (and expensive) hobby. some of us just aren't rich enough to fix and feed the rotang, I'm there right now, seriously thinking of an LS1 swap myself. my car is up for sale in the 3rd gen section.

anyway guys, lets lay off the guy for being enthusiastic about having a fast car, how get gets it down the 1/4 in a quick manner is up to him, and if the work is done right, no matter the car, i'll respect it.
