Do any of you have a guide for swapping a Rotary for another engine. Like an Ls1 or maybe a V6

I heard its not that hard to do if you just have all the right tools.

Also. Maybe a guide on rebuilding an engine if it is possible to do in the garage??

the cost of a rebuild greatly depends on the condition of the parts.

There is an alternate section on the forum for alternate engine swap where you will find what you are looking for.

Sub-forums for the engine swap specifics but : http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/ and http://www.grannysspeedshop.com/ come to mind instantly. It's "easy" to swap in other engines... but it's gonna cost you $$$. Maybe 8-10k - maybe more (never done one). Course you can part out the stuff you won't be using and help make up for the swap cost. Your gonna get some snippy comments from rotary purest but it's your car.

There are a couple of DVDs on how to rebuild the rotary engine (atkins and rotary aviation). BUT in all honesty, it's just best to have someone else do it. There's special tools, little tuner tricks on this and that, clearance specifications, etc... If you're up for that then go for it, otherwise I say pull the engine and have someone else rebuild it that's known. If you have a little money you can purchase a reman directly from Mazda.

A rebuilt rotary will cost you less, period. You could probably build a well done single turbo rotary for less than the cost of an LSx swap.

The first one will cost you less, but it's the cost of the second & third ones that tip the scale...
