Lsx Fd Rx7?

Ok here is my story. I used to have a black 94 RX7 that I loved. I sold it in 2000 because I was buying a condo. After that I had a mustang that my brother gave me, it was fun but also junk at the same time. In 2003 I got a Nissan 350z and slapped a turbo kit on it. It made 400RWHP was great looking and loads of fun but it was totaled in 2006. (Not my fault)

I searched for a new car but nothing was exciting me. I wanted a FD RX7 but I didn't want to deal with motors popping every other year. So I found a mint 93.5 Supra TT with 58K miles on it. The car has power but I miss the light weight feel of the RX7. I am thinking of selling the Supra and getting a LS1 or LS2 RX7 with a 6 speed. Do you guys think I can find a nice one in the lower 20k's?

Oh also I had to get this off my chest. There are no good Supra forums on the net. Suprafourms.com sucks!!! No search for the past 4 months. And most Supra owners think they are so much better than every other car on the road.

Thanks...

Your looking at about 25k+ for a decent car with a good motor.

Your probably gonna get alot of crap for wanting an ls1 fd in this section but screw them. I got my ls1 fd running about a month ago and LOVE it. I don't think you'll really have that much trouble finding a lsx fd for around 25 thousand, though the motor will probably be almost stock.
anyways good luck!

I know people hate when someone does a V8 swap. I used to think the same way. Believe me if the rotary motor was reliable I would just stick with it. But 400+ RWHP all motor sounds pretty great. And I get to still have my all time favorite car. I am not in a hurry. I will wait to find the perfect RX7 before I let go of the Supra.

Don't listen to that person, take a drive in one, like I did and you will love it. There a few for sale, post a WTB ad here, on v8rx7forum.com and swapcartech.com

There are just some people that are against putting V8's in an RX-7, and im one of them. I also know that im not the only one.

So, in my opinion, you and him are huge vaginas because you cant make the same horsepower out of a 1.3 liter.

No offense...

Sorry to hear about your having man ****. Some time at the gym might help that.

I see you have 422 HP; in order for your logic to work, you'd have to actually make as much power as my 5.3L engine, otherwise your point is entirely moot. Although, I suppose, for those of us existing in reality it already was.

Maybe, but that doesn't mean you have to make smartass comments to someone who's considering a conversion. It's not like this is a new subject and people don't know that there are rotary lovers opposed to it.

So, in my opinion... no offense...
None taken, because your opinion is worthless. The sooner you realize that, the better off you'll be.

lol. I can slap a procharger on my stock LS6 with a tiny 8lb pulley and make more power than 90% of the 13Bs posted on this forum. It's not all about power, but if you wanna go there....lol

I predict some monstrous boosted LSx FDs once we get these drivetrain issues sorted out. 35lbs of boost in a 7 liter engine is not far away based on the setups that I'm seeing under construction. You do the math....you want useless power you're barking up the right tree.

I have a few friends with LSx FD's and they spend upwards of ten thousand dollars for an engine, headers, exhaust, labor, etc. and they are making maybe 350-450 whp. The way I see it, I diddnt even have to swap my engine, and I am making that. I only have a single turbo setup, pfc, fuel, etc. the basics.

I dont disagree with you that you can make more power out of a 5.7L, 7L, etc. I think that people that swap LSx's into these cars are forgetting that the thing that makes them unique is the rotary engine.

So... no hard feelings.

PS - heres a quick video of my FD I just made...
