The LS6 pisses fuel in my garage...

Rough day, so I rush to drive the FD for stress relief.

I go to close my hood and it won't close. ****. So I find that the bolts to the hood latch are loose and I have to retighten and adjust so my hood locks. Whatever, easy fix.

Usually I start my car and get out to do a once over to make sure things in engine bay are good, nothing is leaking, all is generally good (its still an FD after all...old habits).

This time I say screw it and I go to back out of the garage. ****. Damn trash cans are in the way. So I get out and move the cans...well there is a stream of fuel pouring out of my car!!

I quickly stop the car and push it out of the garage for fear of having a fuel bomb in my house. This is what I found:

fuel gushing out of here, this is how the fitting was on...practically off!

Pics of the fittings off. What the hell is up with that rubber seal?!? That normal wear?!?!? Its an earl fitting.

So to end my crappy day, this is what I'm left with. The rotary soul is gone but the ghosts of troubles past remain.

Quick disconnects for fuel lines ordered. I'll be able to keep my -6AN braided line to mate up with the corvette FPR. After this incident I have some doubts on using quick disconnects on the fuel line but is definitely better to handle the fuel pressure vs that tube fitting that was on there. I still may cave from doubt and go with plain FI line and FI clamps. No one sees the braided line there anyway...

tube fitting gone and replaced with quick connect fitting. looks to be holding for now but the more I read about horror stories of these popping off with the fuel pressure, I may go to FI line and FI hose clamps. Not much bling but complete peace of mind. Fuel leaking and potentially causing a fire is not worth the bling and the worry.
