LS1 exhaust manifold to cat flanges

where can i buy these? i was reading a thread on torque central and they mentioned that these were hard/expensive to find. If they are readily available i would like to go ahead and buy them new, if not i guess i can hit some of the local perfomance shops, i am sure they would have some stock pipes they would be willing to part with.

i would post my question over there but still cant get access.

this is the thread.

thanks guys.

Hey that's my picture anyways just post a wtb ad on ls1 tech or torque central, I got a ton of pm's but I ended up finding a local shop that made these flanges so I just drove and picked them up.

Yeah, I had that problem...the fix is pretty much either to find a set of used cats and buy them and cut the flanges off and junk the rest of it, or to get some 1/2" thick steal and make them yourself. I called up a couple manufaucters that make ls1 shorty headers to see if they would sell me just the flanges and no dice there.

My solution was ultimatly just to get a set of long-tubes and make them fit, considering I'd probably end up junking the stock manfolds eventally anyway. I used bbk ford 302 headers with ls1 flanges welded on, and they didn't fit that great, had to pound in the firewall a bit on both sides and grind a chunk off the subframe to get them in...and they still sit a little closer to the floorboards then I would like(but good ground clearance at least)

Anywho, full length headers may or may not be an option for you, but if your going to do it I would reccomand saving up for the JTR headers so you can just bolt them on and go, unless your really determinded to save a few bucks(like me )

I thought I was going to stick with the exhaust manifolds, but now I think I may just go ahead an do the headers. posted a WTB on LS1Tech, haven't gotten many replies, and most of them are a couple hundred dollars for the cats. nobody wants to cut the flanges, which i can understand.

I have a set of custom flanges I made of 3/8 steel and a plasma cutter- fit perfect. I have long tubes now so no longer need them. Make me an offer I can't refuse.
My email is gwolf3@wi.rr.com .

Good thing I didn't know you had those a few weeks ago, or I might have been sticking with my stock manifolds!

Now that I've delt with the headers I think I'll be glad a did it...however it would have been nice to spend that chunk of change on tires...

Well I'll just hold onto them until someone on a tight budget needs 'em. Where in wisconsin do you live, rosey?
