Going LT1
SInce Im probably going LT1, I was about to ask would my stock 4-lug SE brakes hold up with a lightly modified LT1? Would the stopping power be there? Currently I have 4 rebuilt calipers, KVr drilled and slotted rotors up front, new Mazda in the back. KVR CF pads.

Well, yeah it CAN stop it, the weight diff isnt that signifigant. The issue is you wont have near the performance of the 4pots... and when you can accelerate fast, you should be able to DECELLERATE fast too :P Oh, aad lose the drilled rotors. Slots are good but drilled rotors under heavy use can crack.
Overall, upgrading to 5 lugs and especailly getting some vented discs and 4pot fronts would be a good idea once you get the LT1 in there, and it has some nice aftermarket support.
And dont let people discourge you becuase of weight, Even LT1s arent that heavy in a FC. I dunno the USUAL weight distribution post-swap but onee guy here with a LT1 FC is 60 lbs heavier on the rear.

A TII's brakes won't hold to a modded TII on the track, I'm sure with the extra power and little bit extra weight they will be taxed even more. Stock 5lug brakes will work fine in most street applications with good pads.
The 4-lug brakes are smaller yet. I can't imagine going through the trouble to swap a V8 and not swap over at least to the 5-lug setup.
FDs are lighter and have slightly larger brakes (than 5 lug FCs) and still overheat under moderate to heavy track usage.

I already have rims and the rest of the stuff. I don't plan on swapping them over. I've seen GSL-SE's with the swap and the same size brakes work out just fine, this isn't a track car but a street driven car and weekend drag racer.
And the weight doesn't bother me what so ever. Currently my car weigh in at 2521 with full interior, AC, and PSing. I doubt swapping in an LT1 or 5.0 would bother me much (maybe get me to a stock 2625? But then again, when did I ask about it.
