LS1 or LT1?

I popped my motor recently and am now considering going piston.

Besides year and a little power is there a real difference between the LS1 and the LT1? I am speaking of fitament, wiring easy, etc.

Thanks for the assistance,
Chris

I would say the Ls-1 is a much better option, more power, less weight, easier to work on, ect. ect. Even if the Lt-1 is cheaper, its not enough to justify it. Why leave the rotary though?

definately lS1

I would def go with the LS1 swap instead of the LT1, its not really a little power difference, the LT1 puts out around 275-85 hp i believe and the LS1 is around 315-20 hp. i know people that spends hundreds even thousands of dollars for 30-40 hp. The LT1 is a cast iron block making it a lot heavier than the lS1. All around the LS1 is a better more modern engine. The Ls1 is higher revving too from my little experience with them.

I am tired of blowing motors. I have single turbo setup and push about 420 at the wheels. I love it when its running but hate it when its not. An LS1 can easily push 400, 6 speeds, better gas mileage, and replacement parts are easy to come by.

I am not totally convinced to go piston but I am simply evaluating my decisions right now. I daily drive a Ford Lighting and would love to be able to start my car daily and drive it like my truck, just not caring about outside temp or retuning, etc.

If I make the change an LS1 is the way i am going to go.
