More info on the motor.
The rods are manley I beams, stock length. The pistons are SRP forged flattops with 4 valve reliefs and compression is around 10.5:1 with stock headgaskets and 11:1 with Cometic MLS gaskets, the engine has stock gaskets as it is.

The main and rod bearings are clevite, The crank is stock + nitrided. All rotating parts are cryo treated. Main berring clearance is .003 and the ring gaps are 1st ring .024 2nd ring .018. Engine was externally balanced.

In the past few months i have added a new Holley 255lph fuel pump, new water pump, new alternator, new MAF sensor, and new ignition coil.

About a month ago I culdnt get the car to start and the culprit turned out to be a fried PCM. I have replaced it with a stock PCM and the car is running great but a little rich... a good tune would easily net another 30-40 whp. I also redid the engine ground wires to avoid this problem again.

Only issues with the car...
1. speedo doesnt function... you will need a converter box from Abbott to get it working. i have a T2 speedo cable i will include with the car.
2. oil pressure gauge just stopped working. im almost positive its just the sending unit and will try to fix it before the car sells.

thats it... car will not pass emmissions... another reason for me selling... NJ has really cracked down on mechanics selling stickers.

ASKING price will be 8k... open to offers.
any negative comments keep them to yourself thanks

keep forgetting stuff... as you can see in the pics the interior is in great shape. seats recently refinished... no tears. car is garage kept and maintained religiously. i will also include the wires and adapters to plug right into your comp for all tuning needs and a <1000 mile ignition coil... basically brand new(thought it was the problem when the car wouldnt start)

ahh i forgot the main issue with the car... the power steering. it functions properly when filled with fluid but due to the mazda steering rack and GM pump not being compatible the fluid will boil over. not noticable at speed but when going slow it feels like theres no power steering. there are many different fixes for this problem as it has to be dealt with with every swap. check out ls1tech.com or torquecentral for all the options. i was just going to go with a manual steering rack but now have decided to sell.

Man, I'd trade the vert, FB and a 4bolt main vortec engine for that car. I'm like you, no money. Vert is dependable, needs interior work but have a new carpet for it. Needs the radio surround, seat covers, convertable top and exhaust.

FB is original 12a needs ignitors, has small dent on left front fender.

Engine is 98 vortec motor out of 2500 van, has one burned valve, short block is 4bolt mains, stock.
Also have a 350 powered astro van, but I wont get what I have into it. It has a GM Goodwrench reman TBI 350 with about 15,000 miles on it. Engine runs great. 4L60 Trans needs to be fixed, and van body is dented. My page where I document the swap here:
Astro350SS

Ok, enough of my wishful dreaming, hope you get what you want for your car. It looks great, hopefully I'll have the vert and the FB v8 powered in the not too distant future. 4bolt motor is for the FB, and I eventually plan on an LS/T56 combo for the vert.

I'm not too broke, Just have a family of 6 and they are my priority before my toys. That is why it takes so long to get em finished.

Later,
Bill

Guess he's not so open to offers. Not that I expected him to take me up on it, but would be nice to hear an ok or a no thanks or something....

Really Dude, that is a nice ride, and I hope someone makes a nice home for it...

Later,
Bill

That's a really sweet car. I wish I was in the market.

One question though, maybe I just don't understand. You said the pistons have 4 valve reliefs? But it's a 2-valve engine...

not sure on the power... like i said its a stock ECU with no tune so i imagine its right around 275? good tune should put u around 315... built to handle the bottle so it could be a fun little car... i enjoy it as is though... im not driving it much and would like to get rid of it asap so make me an offer.

So the car has the stock intake and fuel injection with stock ecu?

Are the O2 sensors functioning?

Cats/No cats?

I understand that it doesn't pass emissions as is, but is there any barrier that you know of that would prevent it from passing if the car was re-catted and tuned?

Is the GM A/c compressor still on the car and just need hooked up, charged etc? If not, do you have it and the engine brackets?

Is there any rust on the car?

Thanks

Jack

Edit:

OBD1 or OBDII?

car has some sort of intake which can be seen in pics. stock injectors
car has no cats... O2 sensors function.
car is an OBD1 with an OBD11 port which is what they did in 95...
ac stuff is not hooked up... ill have to go through the garage and look for it but i think i have most of the stuff. only rust is on the hatch... easily replace... no leaks
thanks for the interest.
