Ford 8.8 install
I've tried to search through the forum but all i really see is people who have done it and say it is easy. i havent seen anything in depth about how it is installed. does it use the same mounting points minus the upper control arm "ears". does the watts linkage stay in place or do you have to convert to a panhard? any direction would be greatly appreciated.

i dont want to spend 2k on the setup, thats the thing. if thats my only alternative (which i really doubt it is) then ill just put an 8.8 into my FC...but i was really wanting to toss my engine from my FC into an FB for the weight savings and ability to have a solid rear with alot of gearing selection. i break T2 axles/housings like they arent even there, its getting old.

i have a 2nd gen currently. running a 406sbc and 350 on the bottle. as far as power, 500 on motor, right around 800 on bottle.
i have someone who wants my shell though, so figured i could flip it and get myself a gutted FB and do an 8.8 in it cheaper/easier than i could in the FC.

lol, its just a good ole gitterdun sbc in an rx7. it aint pretty but function before form right? thats with the torker manifold. got a different one setup for direct port. pic is a bit outdated
but anywho, i vaguely remember granny's offering a solid rear setup for the 1st gens for like 800 bucks a long while ago...but they've changed their site around with the addition of the FC solid axle and stuff, and claim it as a 1st gen modification aswell, so im not sure if they still offer the 800 dollar thing or not. ill ring them tomorrow and keep the thread updated with whatever i find out incase anyone tries searching for the same thing as me lol.

contact grannys, they probably will sell you the mounts that they use, and then just weld them up to your 8.8.
I think there is a size difference in width, the grannys is shortened and all that stuff.
I am pondering the same with my 1st gen the donor car I have is a 8.8 so I might as well use it.
