Alright, well the new rear end setup came though. I'll post up some pictures when it arrives, but it's a Dana 36 from a Corvette that has been modified to fit TII half shafts. I have to narrow the housing a bit and build custom mounts, but neither of those is a big ordeal.

Best part? Gear options. It has 3.08 gears in it, which I'll give a shot, though I'll likely move to something the 3.3x - 3.5x range. Either way it'll be great to have a first gear that's actually useful. ;)

Never really heard of anyone using it.

Pretty snazzy setup or what?

digitalsolo 11-18-09 03:13 PM

Decently strong, easy to install and lots of gearing options. :)

Wow, slacking on the updates guys, sorry. HVAC is back in the car, engine bay is reassembled, main electrical is reassembled and tested, dash harness is thinned and retaped, new rearend is welded, pumpkin is helicoiled (bolt holes were a little rough), and rear is mocked into the car.

Here are a couple pics of the rear cover work by my welder. He did a GREAT job.

I have a very slight amount of trimming left to do on the subframe to get the diff where I want it, but the diff and driveshaft fit great. Metal stock for the brackets is in as well. I believe I have figured out a poly front mount for the diff also, to try and minimize noise transmission to the cabin vs. the all metal layout.

I'll post some more pics once the rear is burned in.

Next up after the rear is rebuilding my gauge cluster in carbon fiber, and building a carbon dual gauge pod for the idiot lights area. Also have to build my seat lowering brackets (seats will be fixed position, but should sit 1" lower, which will be wonderful.

digitalsolo 01-21-10 09:02 AM

And, the rear diff is mounted in place. I have to finish weld and box the rear mounts and fab the front diff/subframe mount (others that did that solid mounted it, I'll be using a poly mount based around the energy suspension poly mounts for the TII swaybar links, as a I have some spares.

I'll post up some pics once the boxing is done and welds are cleaned up a bit.

Any updates? Sickest V8 on the forum, built right.

FC3S Murray 03-26-10 10:33 PM

Man I have not checked up on your build in a while. looking GREAT bro!! I am finding myself drooling as I stare at your engine bay. I appreciate a clean build and a solid engine....this one will murder everything :) SO so so CLEAN!!

BTW your videos do not work on your website.

digitalsolo 03-27-10 09:22 AM

Yeah I need to redo the video section; haven't gotten around to it as I'm working on my car, a friend's TT LSx FD, and a 10AE build.

I'll get some pics of everything together shortly; it's all put together now, minus building a couple brackets for the meth tank/pump to sit in the spare tire area. Then it's on to tuning and seeing what it can do. :)

Thanks for the compliments guys, I appreciate it.

New prototype Pez-Performance motor mounts are in.... old bigass Granny's mounts in top picture, new Pez-Performance C6 mounts in bottom:

Waaaaaay more room then the old design, I like these a lot better. Should have it back on the road in a couple days. Have a race with a Cummins powered pickup this weekend... LOL. Don't ask. ;)

p4nc7 04-05-10 10:05 AM

Your welder is a magician.

Great build.

digitalsolo 04-07-10 11:38 PM

All put back together on the new mounts:

Atrocious, this thing.

I'm taking a plane to calgary next weekend, I thinking about tossing that ticket out and take your car instead.

digitalsolo 04-11-11 10:11 PM

Still redoing this...

New fuel system:

Current engine bay (though I have an electric water pump on order now):

And it lives...

Still sorting the E85 tune on it.

Spirit-RE 04-11-11 11:34 PM

Looks excellent as usual! Must be nice not wondering if its going to not start or flood out when you crank it;)

MaczPayne 04-12-11 03:53 AM

Yup, it's a Turbo II alright.

Hah, well 8.5:1 compression + E85 means she's a little cranky (no pun intended) in cool weather. ;)

I have a new water pump en route as mine finally gave up the ghost, but hopefully after that I can get some actual videos of it in action. :)

FC3S Murray 04-12-11 12:07 PM

mnmmmmm tasty Blake!! She is coming together great!!

digitalsolo 04-25-11 09:11 AM

New water pump:

Modding the outlet/thermostat cover for AN fitting:

And installed on the motor:

I should have the outlet back from welding this week and I can bleed out the system and start working on tuning the motor. :)

digitalsolo 04-29-11 08:37 AM

Friend of mine welded up AN -> thermostat fitting for me. No more coolant leaks!

Word.

Quick pull against a C6 Corvette. The two bikes are a modded 636 (pipe and power commander) and R1 (pipe, power commander, sprocket, swing arm, yada yada).
