A few pictures of my new TII...

Just got the car (mostly) running yesterday... hopefully I'll get the details sorted out and shoot some better pictures soon. :)

very nice my friend....how did you find a beauty like this??

list any mods and exterior peices please

Twins80s 07-21-08 06:17 PM

wow that is quite the nice rx7!

RX710thAE 07-21-08 06:59 PM

damn that shit is clean! how much did you get it for?

RRTEC 07-21-08 08:15 PM

Sweet.. Is that a fuel cut of on the rear?? Was it a drag car?

digitalsolo 07-21-08 09:40 PM

The body kit is AIT Racing (I believe), the suspension is KYB Adjustables with Eibach Prokit springs, and the wheels are TSW EVOs redone in bronze. It also has DTSS eliminators and poly bushings throughout, as well as drilled/slotted rotors and Hawk HPS pads.

The switch is an external electrical cutoff for the engine and fuel.

It has a 10.00 legal cage and battery protection inside as well. The tires on the back are 275/40/17 Nitto DRs. :)

JohnRXT2 built the car originally, he is responsible for the cage and bodywork/paint. He had it a fully gutted drag car, I put the basics back in it (heat/blower motor, wipers, and the interior carpet and plastics). I still have a lot to do, but it's getting there.

I'm not typically a big body kit guy either, but this one does flow with the body lines pretty well. I'm going to do a few little tweaks here and there still, and get the panel gap dead on, but it really does look good now. It is a touch lower than I'd like though. :)

Don't worry yourself with silly things like engines. It's a pretty RX7, the details aren't important. ;)

yeah details aren't importanat but we still like to know what motor is sitting under the hood because were car freaks. me, i prefer rotaries but i dont mind seeing different set ups just to see how creative people can get with monster cars :D lol

Slightly out of date picture of the drivetrain when it was in my old chassis. :)

This picture is missing my headers, heads, 4" intake (that's a 3.5"), new PCV setup, and, judging by the dipstick, it still had an automatic in it (has a built 6 speed now). The appearance of the engine/nitrous setup is essentially unchanged though.

Beautiful car. Everything fits very well together. Congrats.

RRTEC 07-22-08 03:45 PM

What happened to the old chassis?

Sold it to a friend in Indy. It's in good shape, just not as nice as the new one. It'll be back on the road next summer most likely. :)

I was bored with the old one, and thought "hey, why not get a new chassis, and start all over on the stupid problems list..." Working out so far. ;)

MidnightOwl 07-22-08 08:28 PM

That's a goofy looking wankel.....................

Stock206 07-23-08 07:07 PM

This car has to be insane. Direct port nitrous.... Rediculous...... And I really want to see a high speed video now.

digitalsolo 07-23-08 08:30 PM

It goes pretty good, I've not had it about 150 mph yet though.

She's somewhere around 625 wheel HP on spray, ~400 wheel off.

FC_boi 07-23-08 08:42 PM

Its a very nice and clean 7.

digitalsolo 07-23-08 09:45 PM

Thanks for all the compliments guys. :)

'87 turbo II 07-23-08 09:46 PM

Dang, what does the TII tranny think about your 600hp on nitrous? I'd imagine the torque is making it mad. Be careful with that beast, look great.

Turbo II Rotor 07-24-08 12:09 AM

^ Where do you find your rare 6 speed tII trans with conversion bellhousing for a v8??

OP, Nice car, it's good to see a built v8 in a 7 insted of a stock swap.

wordforge 07-24-08 12:27 AM

crazy cool! at least the v8 found it's way into something nice looking as opposed to a geo metro.

Very clean car.

digitalsolo 07-24-08 07:26 AM

The transmission is a T56 from a 2002 Camaro; I rebuilt it with Viper shift forks, bronze shift pads and upgraded keys and synchros. My first transmission build; so far it's still alive with 2k miles, the build should be good for ~750-800 wheel HP in a chassis under 3k lbs. :)

FC3S Murray 07-24-08 08:48 AM

Great job man! Very nice to see a tastefully modded V8. I am digging the S4 bodykit, the front amber turn signals make it look awesome. Congrats on the steal. ;)

digitalsolo 07-25-08 07:07 AM

Thanks again guys-

I finally got it running well yesterday. Had to put a pinion snubber in, as my stock diff mount was allowing enough movement to bind the driveshaft (yay torque!). She's running well now; I've got a few bits and pieces coming in the mail (new seatbelt, a few dash plastics and the door/fender S4 trim) that I need to install, than I'll have a friend who is a much better photog than me get some nice pictures up. :)
