WTF? 14.6 @ 96mph

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=435084

I purchased this car and only thing I have done is correct the vaccuum lines alittle(still a leak some where).

Given that I do suck at launching this car. I haven't got a real chance to learn it yet; it only boost up to 8psi; even then the car shouldn't be that slow. My old s4 T2 had a s5 turbo and manifold, CS Exhaust and presilencer, FCD, walbro 255 ran a 13.88.

This car is Street ported, bnr stage 1, 3rd gen fuel, 2.5" dp, apexi n1 exhaust, vaccuum leak, greddy 2 row fmic and it feels sluggish.

on the upside, I can drift this **** like no other.

also the 2.5" DP it sounds crazy but I noticed a huge dif between the 2.5" and 3" DP also does it have bigger scondarys.....that could be a problem as well.

720 secondaries.

I couldn't imagine a vaccuum leak and 8psi could still make my car that slow.

thats what I was boosting 8PSI on stock turbo and 2.5" exhaust then I upgraded to a 3" got a MBC and was running 12PSI, till the other night when I blew my 147,000 mile stock turbo.........now im going s5 turbo.
I was very suprised at the change from 2.5" DP to a 3".

8 PSI isnt all that much, considering it took me 17 PSI to hit 12s.

you people dont make sense to me.

fix your car, run 13 or 14psi and be happy. 8 psi on that turbo is nothing. why upgrade turbos and only run 8psi?

If you are wanting some help looking for the leak I'd be happy to help. I'm a little busy normally but I'm sure I can make some time to look at it. It sounds like the turbo is a little big to only be running 8 psi which is likely the cause of your disapointment.

back in the day I trapped 102 with an stock port s4 jspec, stock turbo/ic, stock catback, 2.5" down pipe, running 11psi

unless your car is running 100% dont take it to the track, because you'll only let your self down, not to mention you join the "woulda-shoulda-coulda" crowd.
