I have not had the car on the dyno, but 380 sounds right. The truck ran low 13s.

I'm pretty sure it's obvious that it is an LS1 powered RX7.

What mods have you done to your LS1? Is your car full weight? I'm torn between what I'll do when my motor gives out in a few years.

pretty sure its obvious??
it kinda sounded like one (not that video camera mics and computer speakers make for great car sound quality), but i couldnt tell. i never heard a blow off valve which is the one thing i was listenin for.

I dunno, some people don't look at things like, "AndrewB70's LS1 Powered RX7" in the file's description, or can't tell from the sound.

aww, youre being sarcastic. thats cute.
where does it say "AndrewB70's LS1 Powered RX7"? like i said, the sound isnt exactly superb. there's quite a few cars that sound mean. ever heard a 1.6ltr making 250-300 hp n/a? doesnt sound like a 4banger.
and some people dont think before using a term like "pretty sure its obvious" in their opening sentence.

and I think it was pretty obvious it was not a turbo rotary, and not a NA rotary. Wether it was obviously a LS1 vs some other big displacement thing is a different story, but the filename and clip info name field clears that up.

haha, where are you getting all the info?
and at first, i wasnt even thinking about what engine it was running. i didnt think that until i saw the link "/ls1rx7." then i saw it was a truck, so maybe an ls1 and an rx7. at burnout it sounded like a v8 and i didnt hear any turbo noises (which normally are pretty obvious).
still, i didnt go through all the file info. i dont even know where you got the name "AndrewB70's LS1 powered RX7." ah well. i feel like if you're ever wrong about anything on this forum, people's manhood grows just thinking about telling you how wrong you are.
but yea, the info (wherever it is) cleared it up for sure.

The engine is stock except for a mild cam. The car weighs 2915, without driver.

I made the exhaust quiet on purpose.

The rear wheels are Bogart drag racing wheels. The tires are MT drag radials. 235/60/15s
The tires hook very well. I broke something in the rear end on the pass after the one in the video. I have 2 TII rear ends on the way. I should have it all fixed in a couple of weeks.

what was your 60' with the M/T's?

I have BFG 255/50/16 DR's right now

but I heard the new M/T's hook better
and they have a 255/50/16 size too

On the pass in the video I had a 1.7 60' time. I launched at about 3000RPM and the car still spun a little. On the pass after that I broke the driver's side stub axle. I bet I would have gotten 1.6 or better 60 foot. There is a guy running a buick turbo engine in a 90 Vert and he has pulled a 1.57 60 foot with the MT drag radials.

Here is the broken stub.

hmmmm

I know here to get 300m axle center bars for TII's
but the stub is suppose to be jic spec
close to 300M

So I might get a extra set of stubs and send those of to be cryo treated
when I get the chromoly axles for my TII after seing that pic

My best 60' was a 1.63 on the DR's
and 1.61 on ET streets
on near stock suspension
(Tokico Sport rear shocks only aftermarket part)

nice pass btw
car launches good

Thanks man. I just got back in from the garage. I just installed another TII rear. I just want to get the car running and drive it for a little while. Come next spring, I will see what I can do to make things a little more durable. I have a feeling one of the reasons that the stub axle broke is that the rear had over 200K miles on it. The rear I just installed supposedly has only 40K miles on it. It was pulled back in 1992. I also have a set of Tokico Alumistars on the way. The rear shocks are leaking thats why the car bounces when I shift.
