Slightly Modded T2 1/4 Mile

reaction .085
60 foot 2.150
330 foot 6.172
1/8 et 9.552
1/8 mph 75.56
1000' 12.340
1/4 et 14.764
1/4 mph 94.90

my mods that matter are:

all emissions removed
cone filter
2.5" dp/mp/straightpipe

does this sound right for this setup? im hitting about 9psi in every gear... i think i might have blown my turbo though, when my car is idling i get a lot of white smoke.. but it doesnt smell sweet at all. kinda scared.. oh well.

but also remember i suck at driving, untill riding with my friend i didnt realize how slow i shifted, he ripped off a 14.4 in his rx7 and then i tried shifting faster once and my times went from 15.7 to 14.7... so who knows how much better it could be with some actual practice.

That's a nice time.
Magazine times are low 15's, so you're is just about right.
A good lunch will drop the 50' times to about 2.0 flat, which will gain you another 0.3 seconds off the ET (rule of thumb, for every 0.1 off the 60', you drop 0.2 off the ET) you're in the mid 14's.

Yeah.. and I wasn't getting any traction through first and into second.. so I had to launch light (4k slip as apposed to my friends 5k drop)

Bald 205's dont grip much.. but I got some falken 225s in the mail maybe then i can launch harder and get lower into the 14s.

Thanks for the kind words!

Yeah, your times seem to be about right. With a little practice and some better tires you could probably see some improvement.

I ran a 13.8 @ 103 in my 88 Turbo2 9 psi just intake exhaust but I had Nitto drag radials and a bronze clutch. I think that your blown turbo is holding you back a little but it's a lot more noticable at higher psi. I made 200 rwhp @ 8 psi with a blown turbo. But at 10.5 psi I only made 216 rwhp I was supposed to make close to 240. Get a clutch, tires, change your turbo and raise boost to 12 psi. On a perfect run you can hit 12s.

Lightbulb 4.3 Rear Gears Help ET much?

hey,

just wondering, does anyone know how much 4.3 rear gears would help the ET on a setup like we are talking about above? TII mildly modified, i.e. exhaust intake and boost at 9 psi?

Thanks,
Dave

Don't be hating. This is relevant to the topic. Am I only supposed to post answers is that the way it works? I thought this was a discussion.....well... sure since I know you're super highly respected and for all I know a moderator who throws his weight around, you'll probably just ban me completely for even giving you a remotely smart remark. For now on, i'll just start new threads. Oh, and I won't bother using the search engine to see if anyone else posted similar topics or questions and answers already. I won't join any other thread discussions because that might be considered thread jacking. But then of course I have to hear people tell me to "Look at the FAQ's" or "This was already posted" etc etc.

It's consideration to the original poster to the thread - it's THEIR thread...
To the readers who click on the thread - people want to see discussion related to the subject line...
And to you - you might get better replies if you start your own thread.

It's just plain rude.
If you're going to be as insensitive to the above, then I say go &*&^*& yourself.
Your logic is just plain twisted if you don't understand.

I tell you what - I'll threadjack your threads and see how you like it...

Thumbs up Hey Bud...

Reted,

believe it or not, from my perspective, if you were to post similarly to my threads, I don't think I would mind. It appears that everyone pretty much ignored my original post anyways so the thread wasn't really hijacked. However if our discussions about threadjacking continue for much longer, pretty much we are both threadjacking.

From now on, lets just pm each other.

Dave
