delslow, were those numbers that you post with stock fuel and a walbro fuel pump?

yes, stock injectors and a walbro 255. i am no longer going with a hybrid, as i just purchased installed a t04e 60 trim, so looks like youll be waiting a while longer on those stage 4 numbers.

you'll never be done. by the way, when are you gonna put a 3 rotor in it? you know you want one. and when are you gonna port my throttle body.

"just to remind you all, stoich is 14.5. 12 is still rich. 10:1 is rediculously so, and unneccessary if your intake temps aren't rediculously high: ten psi isn't even close to double atmospheric, so suppose that you double and a little bit ambient temps, even at the full 9x at TDC it's not hot enough to combust 93 octane on its own. injecting like crazy is necessary on street gas for 20psi to keep intake temps low, but again your numbers are awesome for 10psi 'cause you're hitting the (upper) efficiency range of the compressor and not going overboard with the fuel. "

Actually, i've also heard that 14 is stoich.....my a/f are in the 14s and i have not detonated as of yet.....but im terrified. Could someone please give more info on this? thanks.

yes. if you have a turbo car you do NOT want your AFR's anywhere near the 13's. DEFINITELY NOT THE 14's!!!
also, you usually cant hear detonation unless its very bad. especially whehn driving on the highway or wherever from all the road noise.

so 14s is not stoich then...and therefore not safe? what do you recommend the AFR's to be? 11s? thanks jacobcartmill.

yeah 11's are good for a turbo car. anywhere in the 12's and up is pretty much in danger of detonation

if it's not broke, why "fix" it??
As mentioned above piston engine and rotary engine AFR's measured via products of combustion in the exhaust by an o2 sensor mean two different things. The sweaping motion of the rotary combustion chamber creates an unpridictable gradiant variation across the rotor face of the air fuel mixture "soup". Thus though an exhaust gasses O2 sensor may show a rich condition in the 12-13 range, there may be a point in the combustion chamber lean enough to knock. This is especially true on a turbo rotary car. This is why people say that rotaries need to run "richer". Even though that's as missleading statement...

Result: turbo rotaries tend to make max power at a point where there can and will be detonation. Hopefully the guy who started this thread was running 93 octane.
