Yes. It uses a spring but also includes washers that can be added to further adjust.

despite a slipping clutch and coolant seal leak slowly getting worse and worse, i got iit dynoed today with more boost. this is with the greddy profec II.

EBC set to 9 psi: 284 whp

started to turn it up, but seemed to run out of fuel. It was getting pretty lean up top, and htis is with the correction maxed at +37% on the rtek at 5.5k+ rpm

this is about 13 psi: 307 whp

im not exactly sure what psi this was at, because the rtek was reading 2 psi lower than my boost gauge which read about 13 psi. and i think i have the gain set too high on the profec, cause the boost seems to overshoot. but yeah i definitely need more fuel before turning up the boost any more

and a video of the last run:

i wanted at least 300whp, so i guess im happy. the car is hella fun, pretty much looses traction in 1st and 2nd gears. the new engine is streetported, so i hope to be making a little more with it

Is it just me .... or are the numbers on the BNRturbos website for rwhp somewhat exaggerated? Maybe if the engine was built, ported, and tuned perfectly peoples numbers would match those on the site?

Stage 4s putting out 353 rwhp
Stage 3s barely putting out 307...

Is it just that people aren't doing their tuning and such right, or at the numbers they should reach maybe rounded up a little high?

Not calling anyone out here what so ever, just wondering why no one is reaching or even getting close to what they have been known to do... (power wise)

Maybe the 2 or 3 more psi, and not having the coolant leak will help jump the hp up by 50 on his stage 3?

(again I am not saying that anything is wrong with the turbos, I am just doing research. I was REALLY interested in getting a stage 2, and putting down 300 rwhp, but it looks like that's almost impossible with a stage 2, seeing how stage 3s are barely doing it..)

man, dont say that. your going to get me bummed out before i even get my stage 2 back from bryan. which, by the way, should be here within the week....
im hoping to put down around 315ish, which bryan said was do-able with the stage 2.

true.. my numbers seem to be very similar with 95nracer's. we both have stockport s4 blocks .. and my dynos above were on a slipping clutch and a blown coolant seal affecting compression. and on the 13 psi run, the boost actually dropped a couple psi near redline b/c i had the gain set too high on the boost controller

Im pretty sure mine will hit at least 340 or so at 14 psi steady on the new engine, with the boost controller setup correctly

I'll be very happy once / if the car makes 300rwhp.

Anyone here selling a second hand Greddy FMIC kit?
Are you using the WI kit you got, i noticed that it wasnt on your mod list? That should've given the tuner the ability to go more advanced with the timing.
PSI Parts sell a copy of the Greddy kit, you could just buy the piping for it off them & get a good quality tube & fin intercooler for it.

That was also on 13psi on the post above you. Also i believe a few posts down he said it was a stockport block. I will be getting my stage 4 back in about a week and a half and will be getting it tuned on april 5-6. It will/should put down right around 400rwhp+. I will get the#s up as soon as i get them. Mine will have the mods in my sig. I dont think that there exaggerated at all. It says right on the site that they put down 403rwhp on 15psi on a Streetported s5 i believe. Those #s on 13psi dont sound that far off do they?????????

I think the numbers are right. I know that I could hit 350whp with my stage 3 if I had everything built properly and tuned on a good day. Hell, i got it tuned at 11-12 psi, 90 degrees outside, humid as hell, stock ic blocking air flow and blowing HOT air, a 120k stock engine, and a slightly slipping clutch and reached 250whp. Surely, with those problems corrected, 350 would be do-able.

Don't worry TweakGames, 353 at 13 psi is pretty good. The 400+ hp shown on their site is from a built Cosmo engine.

The reason why I didn't go higher was just a few days before I went, my buddy broke a rear iron at ~350hp. Let it be known that my buddy broke the weakest type of rear iron out there, the one without the oil pedistal triangle brace and small casting around the dowel. Before I knew what was in my motor, I was a little scared of breaking it so I told Chris at RX-7.com that I would be happy with 350+ hp and thats where he stopped.

Now that I am back home, I have researched the 3 types of rear irons circulating and I have found (thanks to Kevin Landers research) that I have the strongest rear iron available for the S5 RX-7. I will be heading back to Dallas AGAIN, in a couple of weeks to be tuned at higher boost.

I have a stage 4 myself. Could it be possible to run race gas with 20+ psi?

Will these bnr's push that much psi?

^I dont think so. On the site it says it will run 18psi but fell down to 15psi up towards redline. The 403rwhp it put down was on 15psi though. I bet you could run it but it will fall off early and probly heat it up alot. The hotside is just pretty much maxed out by then.

but the exhaust wheels was modded for higher boost right? As in less blades, clipped or something?

I think, (i'm no expert) that the clipped exhaust wheel allows less backpressure caused by the turbo, allowing more exhaust to flow past the turbo with less restriction. Therefor allowing you to have more power at higher RPM from the less restriction.

No matter the fuel, the exhaust housing is the limiting factor.

How come smaller turbos are capable of this?
