6 Port Dyno Stock Ports, custom intake manifold, e6k

well its been a while since i posted anythign here. i was supposed to tune a turbo intagra today, but that wasnt in town so i decided to take my NA to the dyno since i already had teh appointment made. i wanted to see if i could have the car running well without it trying to detonate like last time. the intake manifold is right above the header and teh custom box is not made for it just yet, so when teh car stands a lot of hot air goes up from the header to the manifold and makes it ping or so i thought.
i come do a run and no pinging, with the new duct that i had on the car routed to the front for some colder air. it worked, teh car woudlnt ping with the raised timing.

the car has a STOCK header, STOCK ports, 2.5 inch downpipe and midpipe and a 3" catback. e6k engien managment, custom intake manifold, t2 550 cc injectors, stock fuel pump. FD ignition coils and plug wires and all 9 plugs. this is also on 87 octane.

i am going to be makign a custom header soon, and a full 3" exhaust (for the new setup i will be running with a ported motor) that i will also try on this stock port motor

i had an old map with the really rich low end on one of the runs, thats why i have 2 runs overlap, one of them has the better AF curve and the other has cleaner powerband. enjoy

Its amazing what good tuning does. Good job. You're making more power than a TII. I have an S5 N/A also. I'll be running the dyno on the 23rd. Any tips on putting out some good numbers? Mods below. The rest is stock. (Also does rear gears make a rwhp difference?)

Nice! Let's see some pix of the custom intake manifold!

I've got a question about your timing advance. I've been expeimenting with a lot of advance on my S4 NA and the car always feels leaner when I advance timing a little. So I add fuel on the SAFC and it feels like it did before.

Your AF ratio is 12ish, real rich for NA but maybe that is how you tune a motor with very advanced timing, maybe that is similar to what I've been experimenting with. I've got a friend with a wideband. I think I'll bribe him into letting me borrow it so I can see for myself where my a/f is set.

All I know is when I tune the fuel with the Gtech instantanous G's to maximize them, I end up with a lot more fuel dialed in after I advance timing.

yea, i definately wanna see this intake manifold from a few angles.
any idea what the numbers would be with the e6k and without the manifold (using stock instead) ? most people arent running aftermarket intake manifolds (hell, not to mention most n/as dont have an e6k).
can't wait to see numbers with a ported engine and complete exhaust setup.

What's so cool about 178ish hp? I made roughly 195 at the fly with my S4 N/A with just header, exhuast, intake, and a S-AFC... Oh, wait are we talking WHP? :0

Those are awesome numbers man! are you just running those two 550's in there? Also what kind of TB is it that you are using.

how would that manifold work on a turbo??

if you could fir the piping do you think it would make a big difference in power?

are you taklign abotu turboing a 4 port motor? this manifold is made for a 6 port engine. i am sure it would make a diffrence but why would you bother with somethign like this when you can already make plenty of power with the stock system. on a turbo car i would spend teh money elsewhere.
