379@15psi

Finally got car put back together yesterday. Decided to do a baseline run on the dyno. Did three pulls.

1st run: 10 psi it did 311
2nd run: 15 psi it did 379

Torque readings were very wrong. And I think the dyno was off. I went with 3 other friends that had similar low hp readings. There was a turbo m3 that did 399hp but usually does 420-430, and a m5 that dynoed at 368hp before and had additional work done before the dyno today only did 331hp. So I'm skeptical as to the correct numbers. It was a dynojet and it was a little humid today.

But i guess i should be happy. My last time at the dyno my car did 278@10psi, 358@15, and 394@17. I just installed my MP T70 which was the reason for the visit to the dyno. The car is untuned, my friend and i played with the fuel using a trim **** via the haltech.

I will keep everyone updated.

Neal

Yea you still have some room for improvement. tuned, I was doing around 350rwhp@11psi and 395rwhp@13.5psi. You should be able to hit those numbers after a full ignition and fuel tune. Good job though! That MP T70 is loud huh?

Man that thing is crazy.. I have never heard a turbo that loud. It seemed to not really get going until it was boosting at the 15psi range.

And it really does need to be tuned. I didnt have the car ready when BDC was here in Charlotte. Bummer!!!

But im saving for the alcohol injection kit and then we will see what happens at 20-25psi..

Yeah it gets pretty loud like a jet! So yeah the turbo really doesnt start to make good power until 1bar, then it screams. The turbo on our set up should be good for around 550-560rwhp.

It also supposed to be a litle different than the T70 you had. I opted for the GT T70 which bobby beach says has a different wheel. Compared to the T70 i think my turbo has 1 less fin on the exhaust wheel and it is a Q-trim.

I dont know all the specs on everything but you can ask him if you have any questions. He said MP T70 500-550 and GT T70 550-600. Like i said i have no clue but thats what he says i got.

Yeah I think its the T70 GTQ hmm...if anything it changes spool up characteristics..I duno maybe power but then you should be making slightly more. Just tune it and find out! I had a blast with the t70 when I had it..it gave plenty beatings to camaros and mustangs!

Hey slammedblk7, did you ever get your car dynoed with the new turbo?

I wanted to go with the Gt45 but thought it might be too big. Doesn't it compare to the hks t51? Kinda, sorta!!

By the way your car is awesome. I'm just trying to get that 481hp out of mine like you did. Or better yet 500+..

I will get more dyno time in and let you know how i did..

I have not gotten my dyno tuned yet...been kinda lazy I guess you could say. The GT45 on my full bridge is kinda laggy but, the car still needs to be tuned with a few bugs fixed. It compares to the T51r, although mine has a slightly larger exhaust wheel the T51 has a slightly larger comp wheel. You should be able to surpass me on my 481hp dyno, that was a "hurt" 481...meaning on the same boost I should have cleared 500hp. I had a dinky IC for the setup too. Now crank it up to 20psi and git'r done!

Thanks for the encouragement.. I was starting to think my hp numbers were low.

How did my numbers compare to yours? And did you do 10psi, 15psi and 20psi pulls. I just want a reference as to where i might end up when it gets tuned.

BDC is making strides with the alcohol injection and i cant wait to hit 25psi on that T70..Question is, will it do 25psi?

Umm...I dont remember any 10psi pulls at the time my spring was 11psi I believe. Umm I think at 15psi was like 405rwhp. Im sure you need to change a few things on the ignition map to tweak a few more hp. BDC is good at that. I was making the 481rwhp at 19-20psi. I dont see 25psi being a problem. I was planning to go 30psi before I made the switch. You should be able to bank 400rwhp at a bar once everything is said and done.

Oh yeah. I talked to him last night.

He is saying that he is almost maxing out his turbo. Injector duty cycle is crazy low and everything is running fine. That is the best thing ive heard since slice bread.

I will be ordering my kit asap. You of all people should know I need something like this, even just for the safety margin. After 5 motors it gets kinda stupid doing the same thing. Get ready mang. John, justin, jaared, jimmy, johnny k, john, kent are all going down...lol you to foo.

It's a real trip. It changes everything in terms of how we think about modifying cars. Whereas we've put so much effort into these super-hardy fuel systems (with aftermarket fuel rails and humongous injectors, huge, external fuel pumps or twin in-tank pumps), large front mounted intercoolers, and doing all this work to keep IAT's down for the use of pump fuels, we can now not worry anywhere near as much about that. My 720/1680 combination is at 50% duty cycle at 23-24psi on my 60-1 at 7000rpm. 50%!!!! That's not even making the fuel pump break a sweat, let alone require a second one. One thing I've considered -- since methanol flashes better in a hotter environment and "works" better, it may be worthwhile to consider keeping the air filter in the engine bay to boost the IAT's up a bit. :o

I think the Alkycontrol system will work for your app really well, Neal. The sky's the limit with it.

Awright Neal- Guess the old 1st Gens gonna get back together and I'll have another one to rule the world since my "3 rotor" wreck. Planning to push the spareT78 turbo on the 1st gen. with a REAL EMS! (TEC3) and 8 injectors, blah, blah blah. Stay "tuned" -coming at ya! Those that think they "know everything"-are really annoying - to those of us that do!!
