11.8's with S5 hybrid turbo (am I the fastest hybrid turbo FC??)

Am I the fastest Hybrid turbo FC????
I'm not tryin to be cocky I just would like to know. It would be a cool title

I figure I should post some stuff here since its been a while.
I've been running 11.8's since last year while still using the AFC neo and knightsports
chipped ecu and s5 hybrid turbo, pinapple med streetport and ep2a exhaust port running 16.5 psi. my best with that set up was 11.86@119mph

I just switched to Megasquirt 2 with the zeal daughterboard so im still workin on getting it all retuned, so far my best with the ms2 is 11.81@118mph 1.7760ft still running a bit rich but getting there.

I need slicks, I have bald bf goodrich drag radials 225-45-r17 on steelies they're heavy f'ers

heres my slip and some videos

this is the first time i made it into the 11's last year kind of a crappy video of an 11.99. this was with the KS ecu and afc neo

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=larXYF77WaU

This video is my rx7's maiden voyage down the 1/4 mile with the new MS2 installed , i took it easy off the line ran a 12.4@117 my best that night was 11.83@118 1.82 60ft

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWgAnqg0PZY

this is an in car view of an 11.86@118 pass 1.77 60ft , my best that night was the 11.81@118 with a 1.77 60ft too oddly enough lol

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSiQHeeH_5c

I know the video's suck hahaha good camera men are hard to find lol

Congratulations. That is definitely impressive for a bolt-on turbo.

do you have water/meth? As mario1386 asked, what is your fuel system? What clutch and flywheel combo? What is your diff mount setup and are you using a pinion snubber? What AFR are you hitting and can you post a screenshot of your timing maps?

Im running 6 550cc injectors, the 2 in my uim probably give the same cooling effect as water/meth. my iat are never get any hotter that 45-48 celcius with a hard pull on a hot day.
the injectors are just wired in sequence with the secondaries.
i have my adjustable wg actuator on tight as it goes, i had to pressize it a bit to hook it back on

I have an os giken twin disk with the thicker disk and heavier flywheel i forget the correct model. with solid engine and tranny mounts. I ribbed the front diff mount bracket right off the subframe so i had beefed that up and then just welded a piece of thick sheet metal to one side of the diff mount.....ghetto style lol, i just wanted to stiffen it up a bit but still have some movement till i made a solid one but its held up good *knock on wood*

I'm still working on getting it all dialed in, 5000-5800 its around 10.6 then 10.9-11.1 till red line. i'd be happy around 11.6:1 i use to run it at 11.8 with the old engine management. im still working on getting my accell enrichments perfect so thats why i havent taken away much fuel 5-5800rpm.

the timing map is aaron cakes base timing map. I tried messing around with it in lower boost and vacuum but aarons spools my turbo up the best. I have it 12.4 degrees split at full boost

I get 23/24mpg highway driving too hahahaha

Yeah I'd say you've got room to tweak that timing. On the leading side you should be able to ramp it up from the 5000rpm columns and onward. And that drastic drop in timing from 100-125 kPA isn't really necessary but I see why it would be there on a base map. I'm guessing you have 8.5:1 rotors and 93 octane AKI equivalent fuel.

Those IAT's sound about right.

Thats a great time...I was very close to that with a BNR Stage 4 Hybrid, stock intake ports and really really really crappy 60 foot. I went 12.1 at 116mph. You say you need better tires but that 1.77 is a lot better than my 1.97 60 foot with 18inch rims. Great job!!

Dynoed?

Weight of car?

Pretty good time you got there. Id say its mainly the quick spool thats getting you good ETs. Your trap is right on according to your HP.

Ps it looks like youre tailing me 1.5 60ft 7.3@103

i think i could advance the the timing a bit at full boost its not what it was at before in the top end , I tried advancing it a bit from 100 -150kpa but it seemed laggier not as much get up and go. its all a S5 TII engine 9:1 rotors, 3mm RA super seals, solid corner seals running 91 octane lucas synthetic 2 stroke oil

I was running 12.1@116 with stock ports

My dyno numbers are with cleaned up stock ports and 2.5" downpipe, my engine had a couple cracked corner seals , I havent went back to the dyno since i got a 3"dp and rebuilt and ported the engine, its definitely faster

if I had slicks it would be alot better, I have launch control, but it doesnt hook up with my worn drag radials
I like to think my fast et's are from my mad drivin skillz yo
plus my dad was the nhra tech inspector there so I went there every sunday till i was 10 hahaha

I'm sure you can out drive a lot of guys here at the strip... you're probably not as good as the guy who ran 10's on his FD with stock turbos though

this is my old mx3 with a klze and stock clutch
you only need your clutch to go into gear not out when i shift i am basically putting it in gear as i push in the clutch , watch my clutch foot with the shifts
and keep your clutch foot off the ground

the twin disk does shift friggen awesome instant grab , they're unsprung disks

Gratz!
My friend ran an 11.85 with a S5 hybrid turbo. 60-1 compressor. 22psi. Street port. 3" exhaust. Four 720cc injectors and 2 additional stock injectors on the intake elbow. Unsprung 3 puck clutch. 17" street tires. The engine broke a lot.

Now I'm sure it's possessed!!
Who said it had to be pretty under the hood to be fast?

Is that 2" tubing IC to TB?
I see no AFM of any type. What meter's the air?

I'm gonna go back with some different tires see how it does, those drag radials are pretty much pooched

dont need a afm to run the car if you have a standalone.

Its a great ego booster to call yourself the fastest hybrid in NA LOL, I aint complaining, if I did the times you did I would too use that title haha

Great to see a full interior fc posting times like that. Mines is also full interior and going to the track this sunday to test and tune my car at 17 psi.

3 weeks ago I ran with the same setup but only at 8psi, creeping to 10 psi in 3rd and 4th. I did horrible, my stock turbos did better times lol, this turbo is just not efficient until at 14+ psi. Doesnt help that my launch sucks.

You have a great car there!!!

I realized after posting the Knight Sport ECU had been replaced. I was expecting to see the S5 meter. However, a standalone could be MAF sensor based.

Nice times... I take it you're at about sea-level? How are you liking the megasquirt?
