does anybody know what time a stock 1989 gtu can do the quarter mile in?

Auto or manual?
I think a 16.9 to 17.2 is a quick time for a 5-speed.
Add another second or two for an automatic trans.

i'd be shooting for a 17.0 if its totally stock. if the aux ports and VDI arent working, add another couple of seconds.
