haha ****, a17.3. not to bag on you bud but damn that's over a second worse than stock, how did you manage that? is your 6port system working and your vdi? and launching at 1k. oh well at least you've gotten out to the track. keep working on it. but for the thread i say you will probaly be in the mid 15's if youcan drive decently.

I need to take my FC to the track and try it out. There's two strips about an hour away from here and I've always wanted to give it a go. Do you have any tips for a first-timer from afirst time? How much does it cost?
If any of you veterans can provide some good launch tips, that'd be cool.
Personally, during spirited driving, I usually drop at ~3000-3500 rpm, and shift at the buzzer. It seems to work pretty well, and I don't get much spin at all, usually just a small squeel and she takes right off.

15.8@88 here with rb header/presilencer, borla exhaust, msd6a, safc (half-*** tuned), apex'i intake, slipping clutch, rear agx's on soft and fronts on stiff on stock springs, and pos tires.
15.7@89 buddy's fc with rb header, straight pipe, trust exhaust, pineapple sleeves, portmatched intake manifold, msd6a, safc (also half-*** tuned), k&n cone filter, homemade cold air box, rear agx's on soft and fronts on stiff with rb springs.
15.6@90 'nother buddy's fc with rb header/presilencer, n1 duals, pineapple sleeves, safc (dyno tuned), kumho ecsta mx's, apex'i intake, rear agx's on soft and fronts on stiff with eibach pro springs, and gtus lsd 4.3 rear.
none of us ever took them to the track stock...so i dunno how they'd do in stock form, but this will give you some idea of times with bolt-ons.

I've never run my NA at the track, but my friend consistently ran 15.5@91mph and I consistently beat him by two cars by the top of third gear, so I'd guess I could probably run around 15.2, maybe trapping 93mph.

Ok I ran 18 flat in my '89 GXL. Here's why. 4700ft above sea level. 5th and 6th ports not opening. Running way too rich and didn't get to launch the car. Reason being the light malfunctioned and started while I was backing up because it wasn't reading me. Without launching the car I pulled a 1.92 60ft somehow. Also the tires I had spun way to much for a good 7k drop. And I have a really light flywheel. So I didn't know how to drop it right. Since then all the problems have been fixed and I'm running new exhaust. Replaced the old all season tires with some fat toyo's. So its reason enough to pull low 16's at this elevation which is very respectable.
