Car ran pretty good tonight. 1st run 11.5 at 123 1.7 60 ft next good pass was 11.5 at 118 1.5 60ft and had to let out at the 1/8 almost hit the wall lol. I think it would of been a great pass if I could of stayed in it. That was it for the knight. Great knight for racing

i went back to the track tonight with my 93 base model. over the summer i replaced the downpipe and hiflow cat with an ebay downpipe/midpipe, and i'm using the STOCK CATBACK...
so now the mods are:
apexi intakes
DP/MP
full nonsequential
(note: stock ecu, stock IC, stock catback, stock 10psi)

my best run of the night (3 runs) was 12.71@109mph.
previously (as in my sig) i ran a 12.51@111mph with a DP/hiflowcat/RBcatback.
so i basically got .2sec slower and 2mph slower by switching to the stock catback.

i am technically selling my car, but i really want to see what it will do with a pettit ECU at 12psi with a full exhaust! definitely low 12's at ~113mph

12.65@113.32MPH
2.02 60 foot

1993 RX-7 Base (34,000 miles on the car)

MODS:
3" Downpipe
3" Midpipe with 3" highflow cat welded in (still running air pump)
2.5" Catback
Pettit ECU
Profec B Spec II Boost controller

I am very happy given I have not spent much on mods. I can't wait to see what it will do with an air intake and intercooler.
Backed up the 12.65 with a 12.68 and a few 12.7s.

My car couldnt hook for ****, and same with my friends FD. I have 245 hankook rs2 too. Even feathering or slipping the clutch, the car just spun out too much. I hope it was the track.

That's a great MPH for those mods! What boost were you running? And is that the regular Pettit ECU or the unlimited chip?

Thanks. I was running a peak of about 14.5psi but the boost was dropping in the upper RPM range to about 13psi. The Pettit ECU I am running is the Unlimited.

Cool! I have the Unlimited too. You have plenty of fuel w/the Unlimited for an intake and I/C upgrade. It will definitely be noticeable in terms of power. I would do IC first though. I'd be a little nervous about running that kind of boost through the stock IC.

the track was hella busy and we only got 2 runs. i'm still runnin on my regular street tires. my mods are intakes/downpipe/powerFC/MBC@12psi and i was running open downpipe. it hits 12psi and creeps up to 13.5-14psi

my second run resulted in:

1.80 60ft

7.7@92 1/8th

12.0@115 1/4

jeez, those are some pretty good numbers... what RPM do you launch at? I have about the same exact mods, 93 base as well, but I always chicken out at the line and bog it lol

Best run tonite... keep in mind this was like my 5th time down the 1/4mile ever in my life so I'm still a noob. On BFG Drag Radials and 13-14psi boost, misshift/grind into 3rd gear tho.

R/T - .9
60ft - 1.75
1/8 ET - 7.98
1/8 MPH - 87mph
1/4 ET - 12.45
1/4 MPH - 111mph

All the other runs I bogged on the launch but had 115mph traps so should be a low 12 with some practice and no gear grinding, hah. Link to mods in sig...

Well it's the end of the season.....my best pass was back to back 11.2 @ 123 with a 1.55 60ft. That was with the car dynoing at 472hp (corrected). Now I have 522hp but the tracks are closed here so we will wait to see what it runs next Spring!

anything over 450whp should be easily trapping 125mph

That's why I put corrected hp. It's 310hp uncorrected, but that won't make since to you on how I ran that fast. Racing at 6000ft above sealevel changes a lot of things. This car at sealevel would also run a mid 10 since my GT35/40 stops making power at 21.5lbs up here.

Whoops....It was 410 uncorrected after we tuned it with Meth. Not 310! I don't remember what it was when I ran the 11.2....probably 370 or so.

Im new to this FD thing i just recently bought a black 93 less than a month ago, its got a pfs turbo back exhaust, replaced vacuum lines, extra coolant tank, pfs stock mount ic, mazdaspeed flywheel, ngk plugs, slotted rotors, stock boost. Right now ive got an oil leak im trying to deal with.

But besides that im just curious as to what kind of dyno and 1/4mile numbers i should see w/ a GT35r w/ fmic and supporting fuel mods (800cc primarys, 1600cc secondary, fpr, pump, etc.) and a pfc and boost controller moderately tuned to lets say 15psi on 93 pump gas on a stock r1 motor w/ approx. 20k miles.... I just want some of your guys' input here, since i plan on doing this setup by the beginning of next spring along w/ new clutch/flywheel, radiator, wideband and some other little things.. I still got a lot to learn about the rotary and ive been going through these boards reading up on things and i just wanna see what yall got to say.

oh and is it possible to safely run 17-18psi on the stock motor w/out meth or race gas, or is even 15psi pushing it. j/w

-Thanks

My first 1/4 Mile go.

Was tonight via a GTech Pro RR Meter on a so so bit of back road.

Did a 13.7 @ 107 Mph with two people in the car and a full tank of gas.

My 60 foot time was attrocious.

Also tried a 0 - 100 Kph - 0 Test.

Managed a 9.8 seconds with a 6.0 0-100 time
has anyone else tried this how did you go.

A 7.0 or lower is considered out of sight brilliant for the go to whoa.

Stock ports will hold you back no matter what turbo you use. I would say with a 35r (good choice with stock ports) and the supporting mods @15psi and a good tunner you will be around 380-400rwhp. Your question on running more boost safely is a whole other question with pump gas. Just run a meth inj kit and be safe. That will take you well on above 17psi! But kinda a waste on those ports.
