Exclamation my dyno graph

had my car dyno'd yesterday. Pay no attention to the p-eng and p-norm as the conversion factor was inaccurate I'm sure. The p-wheel figure should be a good indication though. I'm impressed with the linear power delivery, but am concerned that when the second turbo kicks in I only reach .6bar (8.5psi). Is this "normal" for dyno charts??

Cars a stock '92 Type R, with a Blitz Nur back box.

oh, also noted that from about 5,000rpm it's running an a/f ratio of about 9!!

Was the run done at Powerstation? (looks like a MAHA printout)

If so the figures seem very high, but the air temp is also recorded as being somewhat high (35 degrees? I want to go there) so the compensation factor could be out.
As a side note your gearing seems to be different to mine (I'm pulling 129 at near enough identical revs).

The transition seems very smooth, I know mine with a midpipe has a noticeable dip and it was much worse with the cat.

Overall it doesn't seem to make a huge amount of sense - I'm assuming the purple line is your boost? and the red one torque? in which case why does the toque line head off up to meet the peak power at 6.5k rpm?

Very confused.

Run was at S.A.S in Hampshire (South England). I know the figures are high which is why I noted that in my original post. WBHP should be accurate though.

On the lines point, as bhp is a calc of torque and RPM, you would expect this to happen on the graph wouldn't you?

Strange thing on the gear ratio's though. Your figures from the speedo, or other method of reading?

Your torque curve should be an almost flat line, bhp and torque are related on an rpm basis, and should cross over at 5252rpm

BHP = (LBFT x RPM) / 5252

Wouldn't worry about the gearing, I've got a Type-RS which is slightly different. I only commented because my peak power on a previous run was made at 129mph or 6550rpm.

I'd suggest signing up on FDUK - it is a (free) UK based 3rd gen club. They are planning to arrange a dyno day in the not too distant future and it will give you a more useful figure for comparison.

We've got one up here on Sunday, but can't imagine you'd be interesting in driving up for it

Sorry I can't be of more help, but the graph just doesn't seem right

Thanks for the info buddy. I'm already on FDUK Don't like mailing lists much though, and MRC isn't my cuppa!

It would appear the yanks have better knowledge of tuning the mazda rotary than the folks back home.
