Talking I did it again.......125mph on stock twin turbos!!!

Just got back from the E-town.......

All runs on Nitto drags and still stock twins with ported motor.

1= 11.866 @125.03 mph....2.184 60ft

2= 11.827 @ 123.11 mph...1.987 60ft

3= 11.348 @ 125.01 mph...1.705 60ft !!!!!!!!!!!

talk about traction on that last run !!!!!!

For those wondering....
Ported motor w/ stock seals, stock twins, Greddy 3 row, PowerFC, Greddy PE cat-back.......all the bolt ons

Now I'm ready to run 10's on ET streets:-)

Nice Job Boostn7!!

I think I have a turbo going, and although a single setup cleans the bay up a bit and increases reliability, something just wants me to stay wih some upgraded twins.

Damn, that is fast. You made 402 rwhp on the Dyno? You must be running an *** load of boost. My buddy has a the same setup as you. Ported motor, all the bolt-ons and he made 353 rwhp. I would like to see a video of your run if you have one, or maybe a dyno chart. What was the temp and elevation?

fdeeznutz : The 402 rwh was on stock motor (50k miles) and stock turbos......motor has been ported since begining of year.
"*** load of boost"....well....for pump gas yes I'm am....I get close to 18psi when full boost hits and then drops off to 1.10kg/cm2 on PFC(16.5psi) at higher rpm in 2nd,3rd and 4th gear.
So tonight, I decided to shift early (~7200rpm vs 7500+) and it worked out.

the first 2 runs were taped......but camera guy left before my 3rd pass !!!
I will scan slips and post them.

Thanks guys

Gearing is still the OEM 4.10:1 with Turbo II guts.
I've meaning to drop 4:30's in but after running 123mph on ET streets I figured on Nittos it should run another ~2mph.
Since boost drops at higher rpm I shifted @ ~7200-7300rpm to maintain atleast 17psi.....and it worked.

I only removed the spare tire.......total weight of car w/ myself was 2895.....usually ~2920 w/ spare depending amount of gas.

the guy behind the wheel and whole buildup of the car is the reason it runs so well! the car is not a freak. its just called knowing what you are doing !!!

his car with stock twins has been faster than my T78 for a while now !

Not to take away anything from your accomplishment, but Kevin Wyum ran a 10.9x @ 125.xx on stock twins also. In 1996.

Sorry, I should have specified that I was supporting Vosko's statement that the car is not a freak and that "knowing what you're doing" has everything to do with wringing the last bit of performance out of a car.

Congratulations!

Thanks Vosko and Jimlab.....

*BUT*
Kevin's car had upgraded twins (Turbonetics, I believe), custom gears (higher then 4.30's) and also in a serious diet....alot less then the ~ 2900lbs my car weights in and never mind the race gas.............

But .....regardless!!! it was an accomplishment back then which I still respect.
Other person which menaged awesome #s w/the twins was Anthony from NY.

I will run the car soon on ET streets and 10's WILL HAPPEN !!!!

Remember I drive the car everyday as it ran.....maybe pushing my luck with the Sunoco 94......but knock numbers are low on the PowerFC.

Stock twins, non-sequential, but he may have had the wheels clipped. You have to remember that no one made upgraded twins back then.

custom gears (higher then 4.30's)
4.70s, I believe he said. You'd need them with a taller tire. He was running P305 M&H Racemasters, if memory serves.

and never mind the race gas...
You ran 17 psi on pump gas?

Kevin was pushing 17-18 psi on 110, I believe.

I will run the car soon on ET streets and 10's WILL HAPPEN !!!!
You've got the trap speed, it's probably only a matter of traction and time at this point. Good luck!
