will this wheel/offset setup fit my car?
I currently have no suspension modifications on my fd and I dont plan on lowering the car at all.Im interested in getting some volk rays gram lights 57 pros and would like to run 17x9 wheels all around. Now I have to be honest.I dont know a damn thing about how offsets work or let alone how to use the right one.The offsets that are offered for the 17x9's are +12,+25,+27,+30,+35,+40.From what ive seen the +40 would probably have to be the offset thats most likely to fit.I just need some help with all of this.
I want to run 17x9's all around and i really like the volk gram light pro's.Will 17x9 with +40 offset fit?

I searched around and came across this link to an offset calculator.Correct me if im wrong but the stock offset is
+50 on the 16x8 inch wheels.I entered this amount and then the new wheel width and offset.Which was 9inch wide with a +40 offset.I was given this data. The inside of the wheel will be 3mm less and the outside lip will be extended by 23mm.Will this fit?
I then tried a 9 inch wide wheel with a +35 offset to see if it would dramatically change anything. The data I was given was that the inside lip would be extended by 2mm and the outside lip would be extended by 28 mm.
Will this setup still fit with no problems on my car?
Last but not least I tried the 9 inch wide with a +30 offset and heres the result. The inside lip would extend by 7 mm and the outside lip will extend by 33 mm.
Once again will this work?
I wonder how much clearance there is on the inside and outside before things begin to rub? Can anyone answer this for me?

17x9 +40 is an aggressive fitment and will most likely catch the fender lip on entering steep driveways. It will probably be ok in normal driving situations with the stock suspension. Anything less than +40 won't work at all.

thanx rynberg for the help man.So this will only cause problems when entering a steep driveway. What about going up steep hills or taking turns aggresively? will this also cause a problem? I mean I really like the gram light pros but I dont exactly want my driveability to suffer.Does volk make wheels with custom offsets by any chance?

I don't know, it may or may not. The problem with FDs is, literally, every car is different. Some people run the exact same setups and one person will rub and another won't. That's why more conservative fitments like 17x9 +45 offset are recommended.
Volk does not really make custom offsets, but there are many other better fitting wheels on the market with similar looks to the Gram Lights. Check out some of Volk's other wheels or the SSR line-up (www.tirerack.com).

I also found some alternative wheels to the volk gram lights.
They happen to be from ssr.
They are SSR integrals gt 2.I cant seem to find a place that sells these wheels in particular.I looked on tire rack and didnt find these wheels either.Anyone know of a place that does sell these wheels?

The Integral A2 is discontinued. The new GT2 is available from the tire rack, but it's in staggered fitments now, like the Competitions and GT7.
So far, after doing a little spirited driving with my new staggered fitment, I'm thinking that the car feels pretty balanced.....

hey rynberg.what setup do you have for your wheels?
Im either going to go with 17x9's all around or 17x8.5 in the front and 17x9.5 in the rear.Thats what ssr recommends anyways. The 8.5's in the front and the 9.5's in the rear.

Personally, from my experiences so far, I would say that 17x9 all around would be more fun on the street, but the staggered setup might be faster on the track. Either way, you'll have more grip than with the stock rims/tires.

so the two big pics you posted were off of speed stars's website? because I cant seem to find any pics in that size.Or do you have a set? I actually like the gt2 rims better than the gram lights now.Plus they have 8.5 wide wheels in 17's.so im considering some 8.5's in the front and some 9.0 or 9.5 in the rear. What setup do you think will give me the best handling?

Try this page on the SSR site for more pics (http://www.speedstar.co.jp/collectio...gt2/index.html), and if you click on the size icons ("17 Inch", etc.) next to "Line Up" on the right, you'll see all the available widths and offsets that are available in that wheel size. Tire Rack won't have these so as I mentioned previously, you'd have to order through a shop that sources JDM products like the ones I mentioned above. And no, I don't have those wheels. I just picked up a set of Fikse FM/5s. For best neutral handling, go the same size all around.
