Will this fit...

I want to run 315/17 nittos.... But I highly doubt that this will fit.

So what size tire is the biggest I can run on stock suspension w/o rubbing and should I run BFG drag radials or the Nitto Drag Radials. Which will give me better traction.

You can fit 285 in the rear with proper offset wheels.

315....not without fender modification.

Ah, very good point Vosko!

modrx7: You will need 18x10" wheels with a +45 to +51 offset to run 285/30 18 tires. If you want to run 285s up front, you will need 18x10 wheels at +50-51 offset with aftermarket 2-1/2" coil-overs.

You can run 275/40 17 tires with 17x10" wheels in a +45 to +51 offset. You will need aftermarket trailing arms.

ummm no way in hell you can run 275/40/17 all the way around. even sleepr1 said you can 255/40/17 at all 4 corners. 275/40 is so much tire! i have 275's on my car now and i had to roll the fenders... they are HUGE!

The only way to run 275/40-17s is to run Hoosier R3S03s or Kumho Victoracer V700s. Both are shorter in overall diameter than street tires in 275/40-17 (25.3 vs 25.7 inches). Gotta run 9.5 wides all around with 42 to 50-mm offset wheels though. I tested SSR Comps in 9.5 x 17, 42-mm offset with Hoosier 275/40-17 R3S03, and they will fit all the way around. If you're running street tires only, then 255/40-17 on 9.5 x 17, 42-mm to 50-mm offset is recommended. This has more to do with overall tire diamter than width. Taller tires rub and pull down front fender lips when turning right or left with full lock...

i agree 100% with manny... since i have 17's on my car and tried this first hand! 18's fit so much better because you can get 35 series tires.... they fit like a glove

Could someone elaborate on this a bit more? What exactly do you mean by 2-1/2" coil-over?

2.5-inch outer diamter coil springs versus the stock 4-inch outer diameter coil springs. The narrower OD of 2.5 in OD springs allows 0.75 inches (outer diameter/2) more clearance on the inside of the wheel well where extra wheel/tire width can go...

Thanks for the info

What coil-overs would fall under that? Teins? JIC?

You are right, I meant to say you can run 275/40 17s at the rear with the right offset. Definitely not the fronts. Sorry for the confusion!

Most aftermarket coil-overs are 2.5-inch springs, so either of the above will qualify. Just be sure to ask the vendor...
