Will an big offset help or hurt a drift car

i was looking at the D1 drift contest( i think) and i noticed that some of the rear wheels had a different offset (fairly bigger) from the wheels up front. i dont have 2 much knowledge on wheels but i think it was a negative offset.

anybody think that will affect drift perfromance?
