Wheel problem

I have a fd and it is going under the knife for a set of pettit flares and then molded. I'm especially fond of the Volk TE37 time attack wheels. The flat black is a must as im doing a " murdered out theme". the problem that im having is that volk wont go more than 10 inches wide unless i order a a set of 15 or more. the only option that i have been offered is to cut the wheels weld in a section to widen the wheel and then use spacers. I really do not want to go this route as it would probably never fit quite right and i dont believe it would be safe.

I would really like to know if anyone has any connections to get custom sizes and offets of these wheels or similar wheels. the wheels must be 5 or 6 spoke and must be the inverted spoke design. any ideas thanks in advance!

The rim pictured looks like it could be widened from the front side and thus not need any spacer behind it.

Not all wheel widening services are equal- shop around carefully.

How wide do you want it?

Most japanese 1 or 2 piece hybrid wheels will only go to 10, 10.5 or max 11 inches in an 18 inch size.

If you want wider than that, you have to get a 3 piece wheel.

I do not recommend widening these types of wheels either.

I need at least a 315 tire in the rear so 11.5 or 12 would be ideal.

that isnt the exact wheel just the model, brand and color . I just want to show mainly what i meant by the spokes as the go in towards the hub.
i just dont want to see people bring up the flat 6 spokes as an option.

Your best luck is going to be 3 piece, Work Meister S1, SSR Professor SP1, Fikse 5 spoke wheels, or some of the CCW offerings. Talking about weight and "performance", the Fikses and SSRs are definitely going to be lighter than the Works.

CCW's Corsair series is monoblock and comes 13 inches wide, but not the style you are looking for.

Unless you get a group buy going for TE37s or SSR Type C-RSs.

I think that topic is arguable, but I would not do it for my own cars. Some people might say it works, but I am not willing to be the guinea pig for it.

2 piece hybrid or 1 piece mono-block forged wheels are made a certain way to computer like specifications/accuracy, with the use of robotic equipment, and lots of QC. I don't trust a local wheel shop to rebuild a non-multipiece wheel to such strengths and accuracy after compromising it.

Not that I know of, that goes to the widths of 11.5J or 12J.

SSR's Type F goes to 18 x 11, but that's not an inverted 5 spoke.

If you are willing to pay BIG $$$, then some wheel company might be able to machine you one. But I don't think it's worth spending $6000-7000 a set for something like that.

It really isnt worth it i agree. but it is irritating after getting this far just to have to spend God knows how long trying to find something else to fit my car.

I don't think that looks bad, and it comes in pretty good sizes. That's the SSR Professor SP1. The similar look can be achieved with the Work Meister S1 too. (see below).
