18's look nice but it depends on whoever's looking at it from their perspective. Personally I like 17's with the car lowered it looks looks clean and proportional because our FC are small, unless you like those ghetto 80's box chevys on 26's you'll see when your in the neighborhood ghetto then go for some 18's IMO.

I agree, 18's are too big too look good IMHO. I think 17's are just right, it gives the car a more aggressive look and it gives a better selection of tires. Looking at the specs I'd get the 17x7.5 30mm offset (front and rear) and put 225/45/17's on them. If you must stagger, then the 17x9 28mm offset will be about right with a 255/40/17.

I'd go with 18x9 front/ 18x10 rear +15 offset. hella rolled fenders and 215 front and 235 rear tires, slammed to the ground.

on an 18x9/18x10 setup, i'd runa 255 front and 275 rear....

Front offset would be +15 and rear a +30...

30 MM wide front fenders and rolled rears and you're golden with that setup!

If you want performance, go with the smallest rims you can find. Period. Lemme explain why.

Lets say you have a 15" rim (that just barely clears the calipers" and a 18" rim. Both weigh exactly the same. The 18" rim will STILL have more rotational inerta, because of its larger diameter - and rims tend to have more weight in their circumference anyway.

PMOI matters for more than just engine placement :P Plus tires will be cheaper, and good stiff sidewalls on ACTUAL performance tires act as very well damped springs and can help performance. Obviously, so-so tires with flexy sidewalls suck and will be bested by a 'low pro' tire on giant rims, but at so would stiffer sidewalls on smaller rims.

Also, unless you have a turbo rotary with some decent power or v8 swapped, I really dont see any reason at all to go with bigger rims anyway, personally speaking. Unless its for bling, in which case knock yourself out.

Here's the problem with running rim designs like the TE-37's on an FC...

Unless you're going ultra-radical on the fitment - i.e. overfenders - the offsets will get you two different looking faces.
The fronts need a pretty deep offset, unless you're going wider than 8.0".
The rears will cause the "sunken in" look on the spokes.
This makes the car look kinda funny to some people (like me).

Typical fitments on FC's for stock fenders are...
8.0", +30 up front
9.0", +35 in back
The 9.0", +35 will have a "spider" look to the spokes.

So, I dunno if this is the kinda look you want...?

I agree that for pure performance, the smaller wheel is probably better, but the tires available for a 15" rim just aren't as good as those available for the 16's and 17's, in the stock diameter anyway. The reason I got my 17x8's is because they were relatively inexpensive (cheaper than 16's), and the tire selection in 225/45/17 is just about the best you can get for any size when it comes to summer tires. With 15's the only real size choices in good rubber is 205/50/15 and 225/50/15, both are smaller than stock, which is all fine and dandy for autocross and track, but on the street there are definite advantages to keeping the stock tire diameter (lower revs cruising, spedo is correct, looks, etc). For the track I'd get some 15x8's and put some 225/45/15 RA-1's on them.

Anyway, that's why I did it.

the real question is, what kind of look are you going for with your car? (since you've already said its mainly for looks)
