Tire size on S4 n/a
Tire size on S4 n/a
I'm buying all new tires soon, and I'm debating on changing the sidewall sizes. As of now, I'm running p195 60R 15's, and I found a nice set of p195 50R 15's at discounttiredirect.com . A friend has the stock suspension on his S4 GXL just like me and he's running p215 50R 15's and they look great on the GXL wheels. So my question is, would the 50R's look alright? I've also got a small amount of negative camber in the rear, and these should about clear it up. Here's a few pictures of my buddy's and my wheels.

you may Rub..I got 205/60/15's on..but if you are going Fatter and smaller..it is hard to say..By the way,If you are Gonna be doing Spirited driving in that thing out on the Highway Or Auto-Crossing,you may want Other Tires/wheels..the 60 series sidewalls will give the car a "swaying Feel" ..(Move the steering wheel back and forth Out on the highway..you'll get My Drift!..Pardon the Pun!).Going to a Say 45 Series sidewall(17 inch wheel) will be more sturdier.

205/15 is 4.64% out of standard
i'm assuming you don't have abs or anything so it will probably be okay
most tire websites will recommend you stay within 3% of OEM size or else you risk 'brake failure.' i assume they are talking about confusing the ABS system.

acesanugal, stop thread jacking *******
and you stated your tire size like I mentioned it wrong... but I didn't...
anyways, with the new tires on mine, it'll read 68 when I'm really going 60...
and now it's like a mile or 2 fast...

Well actually, I had used the tire calculators the other night...and assuming your speedo is accurate, the wheel/tire size combo you've had for ages is spot on. You bastard. -Takes a swig of Haterade-
...or the number thingee's off the highways

But now the 200 for my tires has to finish paying for my class ring,
so there goes that until I get my job at best buy *wish me luck*
So I finally got these babies
FALKEN Ziex 912's, P205 50R 15
so no more P195 60R 15!
$136 for the discounted tires,
and $78 to mount, balance, and install them

are they orgasmic or what? lol
They hold corners amazing...
or maybe I just think that since I've never had new tires

HA! You should try some 225 wide high performance summer tires, or better yet some race tires! Seriously though, while they might be good all seasons, they'll never be able to keep up with a wider performance summer tire.
Even with super modern ABS, traction control, stability control and all that, as long as you keep the diameters of the front and rear tires close to the same ratio as stock then you should be fine. For him it won't matter, as it's a base model (no ABS) with equal tire sizes front and rear, so the car doesn't know the difference, and even if it did it wouldn't care.
