Are these extremely good rotors?

I've never posted an ebay link so take it easy

if you got a high mileage car lets say would you get these rotors or will the stock ones be just fine?
Are these ones really brembo and does that matter?

I got the whole brake package (SS braided lines, Hawk HPS pads, and Brembo X drilled slotted rotors) from rx7store.net for about $500. Rotors looked just like those. My only concern with those is that the rotor on the left has straight slots, while the one on the right has curved slots. Hmm... any reason for that? Or just two different types?

Do you ever do (or plan on doing) any open track racing/driving? If so, I would suggest you not get drilled rotors. They are fine for the street, but not really for track driving.

Here is another link for some inexpensive rotors:

http://turboimport.com/catalog/rx7.htm

Those are dimpled instead of drilled so they will hold up better to track driving (if that's something you might do in the future or do now).

If not, Tirerack sells stock Brembos for around $55 per rotor. Just remember, Brembo does NOT drill or slot their rotors. Companies buy Brembo rotors and do their own slotting & drilling.

I'd buy aftermarket stock equivalent
brake rotors, just because they're
cheaper than OEM. I get my OEM
replacement brembos for about
$50 apiece at www.nopionline.com, so
it comes out to about $200 for all 4 rotors.

But then, I drive too slow to take
advantage of any benefits offered by
slotted/drilled rotors. :-)

The boxes in that ebay picture says
brembo all right. The brembo rotor
boxes that came with my nopionline
order look just like those. The ebay
ad says you can choose from either
a straight slotted or curved slotted
rotor. So I guess that's why the
seller posted a pic with both rotor
designs.

Slotted rotors are definetely better for track driving than drilled, most of the guys I know though stick with Brembo blanks, some race pads, stainless steel brake lines, and some good brake fluid.

so having slotted and drilled is okay too right? or is the drilled not needed?

getting slotted or drilled helps to reduce brake fade but are much rougher on your brake pads wearing them quicker?

Dont bother with any of that bullshit. Get standard rotors. No slots, no x-drilling. You want your rotors to have as much surface area as possible. The secret to handling the high-heat gassing, which results in brake fade, is in the pads.

I think Ares has the right idea based on a recent good thread on the issue: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=227577

Slotted helps remove brake dust from the rotors quicker. Drilled... Well, I'm not going to get into it but there was a big discussion here about drilled rotors not too long ago. Basically, the technology isn't as needed today as it once was so they are more for looks than performance.

If you don't road race your car, it doesn't really matter. You'll never heat up the drilled rotors enough to do any damage on the street.

I WILL roadrace my next car

I don't want anything for looks **** that

I want the best brake rotors all around possible without upgrading the calipers. Which one are these??
Will the slots or drilled holes tear up the brake pads much faster? I had powerslot slotted front rotors on the fronts on my 3d gen with the hawk hps pads and LMA oil. The brakes were amazing but DID lock up under aggressive driving.

Then you should either look at slotted or standard Brembo's. Forget drilled rotors.

The road racers local to me all use slotted rotors, however they also all have big brake kits. Slotted or standard would be fine however you might want to use some different brake pads eventually.
