i was serching for tein ss and couldnt find too much information. so mayb i though juss ask u guys.

so Tein SS coilover seems pretty cheap on ebay...around 8bills? after s/h

what do you guys think about that tein ss coilovers?

was gonna get koni and some eibach.... i did some math and price is almost same as tein ss.
so mayb i though just get me a coilovers.
what do u guys think about that?

Last i heard that the Tein type-SS were not available for FD yet. just like the type-HE for drift. The HE is out for FC, but not FD. I could be mistaken, and if so, my apologies. Why not go for the type flex, they are only $1100.00 out the door.

Then again, if you are reffering to the FC, then im just all out of place, Haha.

 

What are you looking to accomplish by modifying your suspension from stock?

Personally, I don't understand why people ditch the stock suspension for pure street driving. I only went to stiffer springs and shocks for track use. Coilovers are way overkill for pure street driving, IMO. If I were you, I would just pick up a set of Konis and some lowering springs.

The new Tein SS have BAD spring rates for the FD. Tein has apparently dropped good design for the fad of having equal spring rates front/rear, ala HKS and Apexi. This will lead to oversteer.

If you are set on coilovers, which again I don't think you need at all, I would look at the Tein Flex or JIC FLT-A2.

Those coilovers will cost a little bit more, but look at the spring rates they come with: 671/671. You will HATE the ride. Unless you track or race the car and understand suspension setup, cornerweighting, etc., you don't need the coilovers. If all you ever do is drive on the street (go to work, go to school, spirited driving from time-to-time), pick a good spring/shock combo and be done with it.

That will be fine. You could also try H&R Sport Springs. Racing Beat springs however, are close to stock spring rates and some have had rubbing issues with plus size wheels. Bilstein HD shocks are another good shock to consider and they're cheaper than the Konis.

I use this at work all the time, and 9 out of 10 people want ground control coilovers to slam the car - period. they just don't know it =D

 

bilstein is cheaper... what kind of springs recommended w/ bilstein shocks?

 

^H&R Sport Springs, or the Eibach Pro-Kit. Can't go wrong either way.

IMO the Bilstein and the Koni have higher build quality than the Tokico.
