TE-37's in 16"

this is directed towards rishie/ard t2, but anyone else feel free to reply. i wanted to get these for my fc by the way.

im not too good on sizing offsets thats why im asking. what is the differences in the different sizes of offsets? im specifically wanting the 16" size for performance/weight.

my question i guess is. for every diff. offset size offered in the 16" te-37's, what is the size of tire you could fit in each one? or i guess i could say what would you recommend?

thanks

The offset will vary based on the width of the wheel used.

1. Do you want to run the same size tire front and rear, or stagger?

2. What is the functionality of it?

Thanks, Rishie

KNowing alot about offsets helps alot in deciding what wheels will fit. The more staggered you run the more understeer you'll get.

I would run a 16 by 8 front and rear + 38mm offset. Then run a 225/50 front and back if you're not lowered. If lowered, use a tire that you can get a 225/45 and 50 series tires in.

I know that 88 T2's were stock 205/55/16, just look on the inside of the driver's side door jam. May have gone up to 225/50 in 89, but I'm not sure.

In order to maintain the least amount of understeer as possible, I made the rear width dependent on the maximum width of a tire in the front on a 16". That would be a 225, therefore requiring a 225 in the rear.

However, if you do want to stagger, I would do a 245 in the rear, with the most amount of meat possible in the front. In that case, you might as well stagger your wheels and do the 16,7.5 in the front and the 16,8 in the rear.

The offset in the front can be a mid 30's and the 8.0 will be a +38. Depends on your driving style. Do you like to drift or just stick.

If you ran 17's, it would make things a lot easier because there are more size selections. Let me know.

FYI, the '89~'91 T2 were all 205/55R16.
