Sway Bar Upgrade?

I think I need to upgrade my front sway bars but I'm not sure whats out there as an upgrade to the Racing beat sway bars. I think I only need to upgrade the front and Racing Beat no longer carries there track version sway bar. Any ideas?

Tanabe and Cusco also have sway bars for the FD:

Eibach anti-roll kit - Neuspeed anti-sway bar - H&R sway bar - Suspension Technique sway bar - Megan Racing sway bar - Tanabe stabilizer - Hotchkis sway bar - Cusco

The Tri-point one will be adjustable which is a bonus. I have Tanabe on my car and like them alot.

.188 with it set in the center hole is a good place to start if you end up with the tripoint front sway bar.

What wall thickness would you guys suggest? I was just going to get the 0.250" but figured I'd ask first. I'm still tuning my suspension since the 20b so I'm not sure what spring rates I will end up with but I'm trying the 16k-18k range since that is what I have available to me for now. Does the extra weight from the 20b and the massive turbo in the front affect anything too? I'm trying to break some lap records at some local tracks.

I'm still waiting for it. I ended up getting the 0.188" sidewall version.

OK, so wow. $590. Is the Tri-Point bar really worth that price?

It gives you adjustability and is lighter. Maybe? lol. The discontinued Racing Beat racing sway bar which was similar was similarly priced and the reason it was discontinued was because it was too expensive to make (straight from RB's mouth when I asked). And I don't think the RB one had as much adjustability or as many options.

Racing Beat had some serious quality problems with those bars a few years ago:

I was referring to their racing one, the one with the blue machined ends. On a side note though, I've ran my normal Racing Beat bars for years of heavy track use, neither has broken or bent.

So Marco, how do you like this one over your RB bar? Did you bite the bullet and pay full tilt, or did you find it used in good condition? Just curious on your overall impressions.

It depends on when they were made. Apparently, the manufacturer was changed later in the 2000's which created the quality problems. To be honest, I think a lot of the US companies which sold 3rd Gen parts got them made/provided by similar companies. Pettit also had some of their product lines change/go away around the same timeframe (and we all know these places don't manufacture their own parts).

Ran the bar this weekend. Bar did what I wanted it to do which was eliminate my front understeer at low speed corners. Didn't really get to test it much beyond that because I broke my 3rd gear again fairly quickly lol. It's definitely a quality piece though, full adjustability on everything. I bought it new.

Interesting how you eliminated low speed understeer with a stiffer front swaybar. I actually took off my tanabe front bar and replaced with the OEM to gain some more front grip and turn in. Now, with my 12k Front 10K rear springs I am rolling too much even on street tires tho.

I was gonna recommend you get your spring rates set before adding a sway bar..I personally think thats the best route to tuning ones suspension but it sounds like you got some good outcomes with the tripoint bar.

Also, a cheaper (if you find used ones) option for your transmission could be the OS geiken gear set. My friend has one and sold it on here for quite a bargain.

I believe the tri-point bar is actually softer then the Racing Beat one. I also had both sides set on the 2nd position soft as I wanted to stiffen it throughout the day but breaking the transmission kinda ended that.
