I have an 81 rx7 and I wanna drift it, I'm doing the rack and pinion swap and gc coil overs with camber plates and 4to5 lug plates for the wheels but what can I do about extra steering angle?

some FC guys use washers where the tie rod goes into the rack for extra angle. . . you can find some info searching or on http://www.fc3spro.com/TECH/DRIFT/dori.html.

I'd say to go for the spindle modification instead. I am researching doing the same thing to my FD. Just be carful to keep the tie rod in the same position vertically in relation to the control arm to avoid bumpsteer.

What kind of rack and pinion are you using?

The easist and safest option is one of the SuperNow! kits, they also offer bumpsteer adjustment for lowered vehicles.

I prefer the SuperLater! kit, because it gives me extra time to set up for a corner.

I want to know when somebody goes all out and installs a sprintcar front axle in one of these cars. Its the only way to get your front wheels totally sideways, that's why they use a straight axle.

As for the FB steering, have some steering arms made shorter and you will get more 'turn'(at the wheel) out of the rack travel.

Tie rods, camber, adjust toe, etc.. Fender flares do nothing, it's just for show.

Hmmm I am not firmilar with the CP Racing kit. what rack are they using?

SuperNow! is a Japanese coming specializing in performace products for many vehicles, specificly the FC and FD. The kit consists of a bolt on spacer for the tie rod (gives more steering angle) and new tie rod ends which allow bumpsteer adjustment. The FC gets approx 7-8 degrees more steering angle and the FDs get approx 5 degrees more angle.

These kits are used by many PRO and novice racers both in the USA and Japan, some notables are Tony Angelo (both FC and FD) and Calvin Wan.
