Finished the install, pretty easy acouple things though, the nut on top wasn't tightened down flush, and didn't know where the damper adjustment was at but got that figured out. The alignment of the front was surprisingly easy. The tie rod ends broke loose with hardly any force, and camber was super easy.

Now the rear i could not figure out. You have the knuckle the control arm, and tie rod lookin thing. The control arm has an eccentric shim but it was so hard to move that i couldn't even till what it was adjusting. So i said screw it, cuz it was mostly in spec.

Now its time to have fun.

Pics

I didn't realize til I was just looking at the pics that there's only so many you can take of a set of coilovers without all the pics looking the same, haha. Here are a few though.

I received mine yesterday. Pretty quick considering the order was processed on the 24th. I'm pleased so far but pretty dissapointed that I didn't receive any Stance stickers. Lately, I have had a fetish for stickers. ;0

OH MAKE SURE YOU GUYS CHECK YOUR SPRING PRELOADS UPON INSTALLATION AND A WEEK AFTERWARDS. WE'VE FOUND THAT THESE SPRINGS BREAK IN REAL QUICK AND YOUR CAR WILL LOWER AS A RESULT AND YOU'LL LOSE SUSPENSION TRAVEL. SO AFTER A WEEK OR TWO PLEASE TAKE THE WHEELS OFF THE CAR AND CHECK IF THE SPRING IS LOOSE. IF SO THEN PLEASE DO TIGHTEN IT BACK UP BY USING YOUR GRIP TO SPIN THE COLLAR. NO NEED TO WRENCH THE DAMN THING SO TIGHT THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN MOVE THE SPRING. DON'T APPLY TO MUCH PRELOAD, JUST SO IT'S SNUG.

FC comes standard with 9k/7k and FD is 12k/12k.

Hey Rishie, I assume mine came with the 12k/12k or did I get the 12k/10k? Either way is fine, I'm just wondering. And it says to adjust the height after it's installed, loosen the nut on top and the lower perch nut, and spin. I assume the nut they're talking about on top is the one around the top of the actual piston (in pic with red arrow)? It's the only one I see that would have an impact on something like that. I've never had this type of coilover before so I'm quite a newb to it.

You shouldnt have to loosen that top nut unless these are really weird coilovers. The c/o body should have 2 nuts that tighten against each other, loosen them and thats where you usually adjust the pre-load. There is usually a 3rd nut the secures the main height adjustment. To adjust height loosen that bottom nut and adjust to desired height.

^Yeah that's what I'm saying. Not the two nuts to adjust preload, but the bottom one to adjust height. But it also said to loosen the top nut but I'm not sure why, I'm pretty sure that's what it said. I didn't think that would have anything to do with it, but like I said, I've never had this kind so I wanted to make sure. Thanks.

Ok I just installed these last night on my 88 GTU. Packaging is very nice. Coilovers are individually wrapped in bubblewrap, then placed into individual boxes. Included within the box are 2 spanner wrenches and 4 ***** for adjusting dampening.

Installation is pretty straight forward. First off, these things are BEEFY! They look like they could be coilovers for a car that is twice the size of the FC. They are slightly heavier than the stock struts/springs, but it's not too bad. Give the size of the Stance coilovers, I am confident they will hold up to any type of drifting or open track abuse.

Valving: 16-way adjustable. 9k/7k springs. Valving is good and fairly compliant for street use. I have it set to 10 in front and 8 in back for now. It is pretty good for driving around on city streets. Small bumps and potholes are absorbed decently. On the highway and at high speeds, the car is a little jittery. I will soften the dampening a little bit today and see if it improves.

I'll be going to Streets of Willow Springs on Friday so I can report on how they do at the track afterwards

Sounds interesting. Did you get it alligned? That might explain the high speed jitters.

Good luck at the track, let us know how it goes!

I'm putting mine on the FD right now. Got a problem though. I'm also installing RB front and rear sway bars, and on the rear the end of the bar is touching the coilover. Now it doesn't take a genius to figure out that's not gonna work. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm grinding down the end of the sway bar with my Dremel, hopefully I can take off enough. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm also putting on a harness bar and a strut bar, so when I leave work I should have a nice ride. I'll post the results/a review when I get home.
