You're not giving us much to work with here. Are you trying to pick springs to buy with a kit? Is the car gutted?, what kind of shocks do you have?, what does the car weigh? sway bars? There are a bunch of variables to take into account. I have read here that guys start with a rear rate that is about 60% of the front rate. You might start with 450lb fr/270rr but who knows what would be right for YOUR car. Give us some more info if you can, if you're doing this kind of stuff for the first time start with the questions listed above then we can probably help more.

A description of the track would also be really good to determine the spring rates.

oohhh sorry!!! hehehe... well, i have the sway bars, strut bars fr//rr and i got tockiko adjustable shocks ..... im getting a ground control coilover sleeve kit and will also buy a spring such as eibach. i know there are other competitive coilover brands like tein and such but i like to try to buy ground control coilover its because its affordable and somehow good enough to manipulate the stiffness and manipulate damps.... i got a 91 fc n/a, and as far as the weight, i can only estimate of 3000 lbs. in its weight., race track would at buttonwillow raceway... im pretty sure you are familiar with that....

What sway bars? There are many different stiffnesses, and selecting spring rates is dependant on that. Also, how do you wnat the balance to be? Understeer? Oversteer? Neutral? (that one's a lot harder to do)

Telling you what springrates you need is like telling you what your favorite pizza should be.

Someone may suggest what worked for them or what they liked. Then, when it's time for you to ride on it you might think it's too bumpy or it doesn't handle right.

Usually if you don't know what springrates to go with you're better off going with lowering springs.

Here's a good website to answer your question.

One last thing the Ground Controls come with Eibach springs so no need to buy Eibach springs seperately. Another recommendation is to talk to the techs at Ground Control and they will recommend you spring rates.

in my experience the tockicos you have cant handle high spring rates. but if you have to get somethign i woudl start with 350lbs front and 250 lbs rear, then adjust from there to your liking.

this thread would have more luck in the race car forum
