should i wax my rims/

my car will be sitting for a while for repairs and upgrades. I have gold volk gram lights. I was wondering if anyone knew what type of paint or process they use to get the gold on there, and if I should wax the rims to protect them?

My car will be sitting for a while, possibley a year or more, and I wanted to protect my paint on the rims. I wasn't sure the process or type of paint they use on my volk gram lights.

Not sure, I"ll ask my buddy but when he waxed mine and sealed it, it made it so much more easier to wash the rims

Is there any special wax to prevent brake dust to collect and stick on the rims?
