Quik Volk Te37 Ques

hello guys, i luv these rims, volk te37s, but they look extmrelly ugly when they dont have the right offset. They look completely flat and i was wondering if i could get them in a 350Z off set 19x9.5 and 19x10.5J 24mm offset

would i exp. any problems ? for the rear would i need to have fenders for the rims to fit ? i am prolly gonna get them smaller, like 19x9.5 all around or sumthing but i just hate em when they look flat.

would u rather have your rims looking like this

or this

no offense to jasons car its very nice, but the volks dont look all that good flat like that sorry if i confused you, its really a newb ques but any help would be great

Thats just a function of the FD offsets... not much you can do about it without using fender flares.... Z cars and such use ofsets in the teens and 20's, not 40's.

lol ahahah actually i did it twice and so i cant get the te 37s to fit with like 19x8.5"(+22 offset) for the front & 19x9.5"(+22 offset), or 19x9 (low offset) for the front and 19x9.5 (+22) in the rear ?

why cant i get offsets in the 20s or low 30s ? will it rub or sumthing ? wat is the big problem i dont understand please enlighten me

Ok,

I am no expert at this but let me give it a try....

the offset is measure from the back of the wheel to the centerline or middle of the width of the wheel. The offset is measured in mm.

So, as you drop the offset to lower numbers or closer to "zero", it pushes the wheel further out. The further out the wheel goes the greater chance it has of hitting the fender. So offsets in the teens would hit the fender unless you got fender flares or wanted to make your car look like one of those "pimp mobiles" with the tires sticking way out from the car

So let me get this straight. You're actually considering modifying the fenders and changing the handling of the car just to make the wheels not look "flat"?

If you're not happy with how the TE-37s look in proper FD offsets, then pick another wheel. There are VERY few fat-lipped rims that a) fit the FD, b) clear the brakes, and c) don't weigh 30 lbs each.

BTW little man, why are you worrying about rim offsets when you don't even have an FD to put wheels on?

He's getting ready for when he does have one...

Volk TE37s in proper (+43mm) offset, 19x8.5", 19x9.5".

As soon as I have some suspension pieces to bolt them to that aren't coming back off the car.

Right now I'm pulling the rear subframe again to take it down for the welding jig to be finished and Cobra IRS cradle to be duplicated. After I get my parts back and get them powder coated, then I can start bolting things up permanently. Same goes for the front. I don't even have bushings in my control arms right now, and I still have to have the engine cradle powder coated (trying to do all the big pieces at once), but first I have to use it for some mock-up work. It never ends.

Thanks. I think the combination of dark blue and polished aluminum is going to just right. I wasn't totally sure until I picked up a couple diecast cars lately with the same combination, but I couldn't live with powder coated wheels.

BTW, the second picture always cracks me up. If you didn't have any reference (I threw in the stock rear brake rotor with the first picture for scale), it looks like a 16" wheel because the width of the tire offsets the diameter of the wheel... but it's a P285/30-19.

Not sure. I bought them through Upgrade Motoring and they sent them out to be stripped and polished.

Then ask about offsets. When you start asking about whether or not you're going to need flares, people naturally assume you actually have a car...

You have to crawl before you walk. Get the car first, then worry about wheels.

Sweet, Jim. Probably going to be my next set of wheels as well. The TE37 19x9.5 in +45 has bit more lip, but flatter spokes for reference.
