QUICK HELP PLEASE: Fitment of 17" wheels for FD
QUICK HELP PLEASE: Fitment of 17" wheels for FD
Hi guys! Please help!
I impulsively bought ONE PAIR of used CE28N of the size 17"x9.0" +35mm offset because I always love to have CE28N on my FD...
Now I really have to sit down and think about the size of the OTHER PAIR that I need to purchase brand new...
Anyways here are my questions:
1) Whether 17x9 +35 will fit front?
2) Whether 17x9 +35 will fit rear?
(I got told it would so I purchased them. Also the wheel fitment spreadsheet says +31 for rear or +44 for front is the lowest offset I can go with 17x9...)
Because if they can be fitted at the front then I will get exactly the same size for the rear so I can rotate tires.
However, if they can ONLY be fitted to the rear then I will need a different width n offset for the front I guess.
3) If thats the case what is the recommended front wheel size that best match 17x9 +35 at the rear?
Thanks thanks.
Eric.

heyyy!!!
today just found out the seller made a mistake.. the size is actually 17x9 +23mm offset!!!
****.. would that fit fd still?
so front wheel should be 17x9 and as close to +44mm offset as possible if i want to use 255/40/17 all round?
thanksssssssssssss

as in 17x9 +17... my fd should be here any day now...
17x9 +23 will fit front and rear... just depending on what look you want to go for? ... will not fit with 255s but if you want to stretch 225s on there it will fit fine

Stretching 225s??? What's the point of having a 9" wheel and running stock sized 225s? Might as well keep the stock wheels then, eh? These drifter fitments don't work very well because you have to run a lot of negative camber, your wheel bearings take more of a beating, and it looks like ***.
looks are subjective..
wears wheel bearings more... doubt it..
who said you have to run lots of camber?
if it fits with 225s so why not? do you really need 255s on the front?
meh, im a drifter.. i run 215/40s on my 17x9s... works for me on the track...drifting and doing grip work too at motorkhna's

well my fd is my daily driver. i wont be drifting or racing it in the near future.
i just want something 1) comfortable 2) nice looking 3) good performer and doesn't look stupid or anything.
if 17x9 +23 would fit... ok. i want to be able to rotate tires.
so i think i will want 255/40/17 all round.. what shd be the correct width or offset for the front then (since u guys said 17x9 +23 will have problem running 255 at the front)
u guys reckon i can fit 17x9+23 with 255 at front with fender roll?

plz tell me the size of the other pair i shd order. whether it is the same size 17x9 +23 or whether it has to be something different.
well rotating tires is not really a big deal actually...
i need to get the other pair that would match fd.
btw, u guys know if ... 17x9 +23 would fit any other car? (skyline? silvia? 350z? supra?) i hope it is something not too uncommon so it wont be too much of an hassle if i decide to sell it in the future. thanks sir!!!!!!

You see the +17 above sticking out past the fender. IMO, that's not fitting. A +23 will move the wheel in some compared to that picture above, but I'll bet it will still stick out some past the fender.
The real question is: Is that what you want?

Well i guess like most other people. I want to have the wheels in line with the fenders both front and rear. If 17x9 +23 can fit almost in line with the front or rear, then it is fine for me.
Whats your recommendation for the wheel size of the other pair? And tires size.
It would be nice if I can rotate tires but if I cannot its not that a big deal. Currently thinking about having the 17x9 +23mm with 255/40. If that would fit the front then I will just order the same size for the rear, wth same tires..
Hey you know like the recommended offset for 17x9 is approx +45mm, what sort of problem will I run into with +23 offset?
Thanks
Eric

The tires are 255's. Now, I could run a lower offset by using a stretched tire but that's just not me.
