Potenza RE-01R

Has anyone bought these tires yet? I did a search but came up with stuff that was back in May. I would like to know What your thoughts are after drive with these tires.

How many miles, what kind of driving, and pricing.

I will be running up front a 235/45R17 or a 245/40R17 on a 17x8.5 rim. Rear will be a 255/40R17 on a 17x9.5 rim.

Give feed back on these tires or other with arund the same tread wear rating.

these are awesome tires. the only tire i like more would be advan neova ad07, but only slightly so. for the price the re01r is the best tire imo. i dont have them, but my boss has them on his porsche. i've driven it many times and on an auto x. they are very predictable, have tons of grip, and get sticker as they heat up. now that they have my size im going to run them next. in fact i might just take off my almost new tires i have on now and put them on

I was also looking at the Advans as well. I am not sure on the two. I think I am leaning towards the RE-01R from what I have read. My friend had a pair of Advans on his Gallardo and they seemed to be nice for the car, but not as sticky as the corsso that were made from this car from the factory. I driven the car and the tire felt good.

The same friend has an eclispe that has the Falkens and he says that they seem very close to the Advans at half the price.

Any one elsa want to throw in their two cents on this?

I hear they're good and they're currently the favorite tire in the street tire autocross classes, but for the price they'd damn well better be good, I mean good god are they ever expensive. The Azenis are almost as good and are WAY cheaper, definetely worth a look.

I bought a set of these in 245/40/R17 when they were on sale for $146 at Tire Rack a couple months ago. Also, there was a $100 rebate available for SCCA members at the time so that made them even more reasonable. I probably would not have tried them at the current price ($165) with no rebate. These are great street tires, surprisingly comfortable and quiet for a very high performance tire. I've done a couple of track sessions on them. The grip level is amazing considering they are street tires. They heat up rather quickly (maybe too quickly) as the grip level starts to drop off after two or three hot laps. They get somewhat greasy, but never completely went away. Would make a good dual purpose tire for someone driving to/from track events.

Thanks for the info. I will most likely go with these tires. (RE-01R) The price is not to bad for what kind of tire it is and the price seems to be lower then the Advans.
