Koni vs Tokico vs KYB shocks & struts comparison
Which are more reliable?
Which last longer?
Which is higher quality?
Which preforms best?
Which is easily adjutable?
Which do u prefere for your rx?
Please your insight, i have browsed the web over and cannot find a good comparison, so i'm going straight to the source, the consumer.
Which do u prefere or which do u currently (or ever) own?
Thank You,
Sergei The Saint

I prefer KONI's
I did have a shock that went to **** on me and leaked but they did a swap out with no questions and it's been good ever since.
Overall I like it alot since in soft mode it's very streetable unlike some of the ones that are hard in soft mode. There are ones that stiffer in soft mode...
Maz, one of Ivan's customer had an article that tested GAB, KYB, Tien, Tokico and a few others and they said that the NEW koni threaded strut/shock set up shaved a few seconds off their track times.
I'll try to get the article as soon as he gets outta jail for eveading an officer on the freeway at 100MPH+

I am absolutly completly satisfied with my Tokico Illuminas!! I have only hade them on my car for about 3 months, but so far I love them! they see daily driving and have seen 2 auto-xes.
Personally from my experience with 1st gens and other cars the Tokicos are the best. But for other gens I dunno.

Tokico has a more OEM feel since they are OEM supplier to many jap cars including mazda......

The Tokico is not a poor product, but IMO opinion they are the lowest performers of the adjustables, especially if you are running higher spring rates.
For street I don't really care, but at the track they are somewhat limited.

buhahaahaha.....
to rub it in......
the guys that have tokico on their FD can't hang with me on the KONI and ground control with addco sway bars all around and A032r
It's like comparing a supra vs fd in handling...........

I just installed KONI's a month ago. The difference from OEM was amazing. When tuned down the ride is much smoother then stock, but when tuned stiff, their manners are a lot more suitable for the track or "spirited" driving. I love KONI's the install wasnt bad. Go with KONI's

I have experience with the AGX shocks.
They will be fine for a car with stock or aftermarket springs (If I remember correctly the paper that came with them said the warranty was void if used with anything other than an OEM spring).
I have them on an FC with GC coilovers running 400+lb and 300+ lb springs. They are garbage, way too high of a spring rate for them to keep up with.
IMHO they are just fancy OEM replacement shocks/struts and are not meant to be used as or confused with a performance shock/strut.

1St gen question
If you wre gonna start from scratch what springs and shocks would you run?
Keep i mind I have a set of 15" Panasports going on also. I know I will have to chang tire size since the 225-50-15 will not fit once the car lowers some.
I was thinking Remove my Tokico Illuminas from the rear
removing the stock front and put Tokico blues on all four with a set of RB springs.
Does this sound good or is there a better choice?
